Clothianidin
As a neonicotinoid type of pesticide, clothianidin attacks the central nervous system of an insect. Neonicotinoid type of insecticides was developed to apply where they may be pyrethroid, carbamate or organophosphate build up resistance. Neonicotinoids have lower risks to humans and mammals as compared to carbamates or organophosphates.
