Metaflumizone belongs to the semicarbazone class of chemicals. Metaflumizone has proven effective in treating existing fire ant infestations. Its mode of action causes paralysis of the insects by blocking the sodium channel of the nervous system. It does not require metabolism for bio activation. It belongs to a new chemical group, called IRAC(Insecticide Resistance Action Committee) mode of action chemical group, 22B Metaflumizone belongs to a new IRAC (Insecticide Resistance Action Committee) Mode of Action Chemical Group, 22B.
