Bed Bug Inspection Check List:

• Cracks and crevices in head and foot boards, attached side railings and supports
• Inspect mattresses top, sides and bottom. Check all buttons, seams and rips.
• Inspect electrical switch plates, pictures on walls, wall posters
• Inspect cracks in plaster or seams in wall paper.
• Inspect electrical appliances-radios, phones, televisions, ect.,looking in hiding places.
• Inspect tack strips under wall-to-wall carpeting and behind baseboards
• Inspect secondhand beds, bedding, and furniture. The newer better built mattresses do not offer as much shelter and protection for the bed bugs to hide.

Directions

1. Inspect for Bed Bugs-Most bed bug problems will occur near sleeping areas. Inspect their hiding places near beds or couches (if you sleep on them).
• mattresses, boxsprings
• headboards, foot boards, frames
• behind wall hangings, pictures and mirrors
• Behind electrical switch plates (Do not use Crossfire liquid in electrical switch plates; use a dust such as Cimexa dust in switch plates)
• In electronics-radios and alarm clocks (Do not use liquids or dusts in electronic. Use Nuvan Strips (place electronics in a garbage bag with a Nuvan Strip and close the bad securely for 3-4 days. The vapors will kill any bed bugs.
• All nooks and crannies of nightstands and dressers
2. Clean up all clutter to eliminate the hiding areas.
3. Vacuum surfaces before treatment for best results
4. Crossfire Mixture: Mix 13 oz per gallon of water or 6.5 oz per half gallon of water in a low volume sprayer and spray with a mist or stream in areas of infestation (see list above). Spray areas that the bed bugs are hiding, near sleeping areas. Spray bed bugs directly where possible. Use what you mix within a couple of days ( do not let it stay in your sprayer).
5. Spray mattresses and box springs enough to get damp, but not wet. Pay particular attention to possible hiding areas such as folds, tufts, seams, and edges. Clean any infested linens and dry at a high temperature.
6. Pet beds and areas near the pet may be treated safely.
7. Use what you mix within 4-5 days (so carefully mix up the amount that you need, so there is no waste)
8. Repeat the treatment outlined  in 10-14 days. Some people need to treat for the third time.
• Cimexa Dust is a ready to use dust that is ideal for use on the mattress and box springs.  Fill the duster half full.  First shaking and then squeezing the duster will create a fine dust that resembles smoke.  This is just what you want for dusting the mattress. Pay particular attention to seams, folds, and stapled fabric under the box springs. The joints where the rails and headboard connect are also prime hiding areas for bed bugs. You may need to remove the fabric under the box spring to access the inner springs. The mattress is safe to sleep on once it's covered with a sheet. Also be sure to dust behind pictures and wall hangings, as well as switch plate and outlet covers. Look for any cracks or crevices in which bed bugs could hide and treat them.

• Be sure to re-treat 10-14 days later.
• Remember to read and follow all label instructions.
