Cyonara 9.7 is the premier Lambda-Cyhalothrin formulation that combines an advanced generation pyrethroid with Sigma Technology. This new technology has a double effect. Sigma Technology reduces pares-thesia and, at the same time, offers long-lasting residual. This is different than encapsulated technology, as the micro-caps can rupture, possibly increasing paresthesia and decreasing residual.

Cyonara 9.7's broad label allows application to be made outdoors and indoors, in food handling and food prep establishments, institutional, public, commercial, agricutural, and industrial buildings, and in large perimeter areas.

This insecticide achieves unsurpassed control of most pests within minutes, and offers a residual that can last up to several months, even at considerably low-use rates. Labeled for outdoor perimeter pest control, indoors for food handling areas, turf & ornamentals, animal housing. Tank mix compatible with herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, liquid fertilizers with great mixing characteristics.

More Instructions

Outdoor Surfaces Use

  • Apply with either hand or power application equipment as a residual treatment to ornamental plants next to foundations of buildings and to surfaces of buildings, porches, screens, window frames, eaves, patios, garages, refuse dumps, and other similar areas where these insect pests are active.
  • Remove all exposed food and cooking utensils.
  • Cover all food handling surfaces or wash thoroughly after treatment and before use.
  • Do not use on edible crops.

Perimeter Barrier Treatments

  • Apply a continual band of insecticide around building foundations and around windows, doors, service line entrances, eaves, vents, and other areas to reduce the potential for entry by crawling pests.
  • Before application, remove debris and leaf litter from next to the foundation, cut back vegetation and branches that touch the foundation, and move or rake back rocks, deep mulch, or other potential pest harborage next to the foundation.
  • Apply the band 3-10 ft. wide around the structure (or according to state regulations governing commercial pest control) and upwards along the foundation to 3 ft. and around windows, doors, and roof overhangs.
  •  Apply as a coarse spray to thoroughly and uniformly wet the foundation and/or band area so that the insecticide will reach the soil or thatch level where pests may be active.

CYONARA 9.7 is for use as a general surface (nonfood/nonfeed areas), crack and crevice, or spot treatment in, on, and around buildings and structures and their immediate surroundings, and on modes of transport. Areas of use include, but are not limited to, industrial buildings, houses, apartment buildings, laboratories, buses, greenhouses (non-commercial), stores, warehouses, vessels, rail cars, trucks, trailers, aircraft (cargo and other non-cabin areas only), schools, nursing homes, hospitals, restaurants, hotels, livestock/poultry housing, pet kennels, food granaries, food grain mills and food manufacturing, processing, and servicing establishments.

Nonfood/nonfeed areas of food/feed handling establishments include garbage rooms, lavatories, floor drains (to sewers), entries and vestibules, offices, locker rooms, machine rooms, boiler rooms, garages, mop closets, and storage (after canning or bottling). For indoor applications, CYONARA 9.7 can be reapplied at 21-day intervals if necessary.

Mixing Instructions

Dilute CYONARA 9.7 with water for application using hand-held or power-operated application equipment as a coarse spray for crack and crevice or spot and general surface (non-food/nonfeed areas only) treatments. Application equipment that delivers low volume treatments, such as the Micro-Injector or Actisol applicator, may also be used to make crack and crevice or spot and general surface treatments. Fill applicator tank with the desired volume of water and add CYONARA 9.7. Close and shake before use in order to ensure proper mixing. Shake or re-agitate applicator tank before use if application is interrupted. Mix only amount of treatment volume as required. CYONARA 9.7 may be applied by using a paintbrush or other porous applicator attached to a handle as a general surface treatment

Tank Mixing

CYONARA 9.7 may be tank mixed with other currently registered pesticides unless expressly prohibited by the product label. A small volume mixing test with the other products is recommended to ensure compatibility. If other chemicals are added to the applicator tank, CYONARA 9.7 should be added last. If mixed with EC formulations, use within 24 hours. Fill tank to desired volume and continue to agitate while making applications. CYONARA 9.7 may be tank mixed with an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). Observe all restrictions and precautions which appear on the labels of these products.

Ants: Apply to any trails around doors and windows and other places where ants may be found. For best results, locate and treat nests. Where ants are trailing inside, apply as a residual surface treatment to active areas such as baseboards, corners, around pipes, in and behind cabinets, behind and under refrigerators, sinks, furnaces and stoves, cracks and crevices. When combining baits and residua- surface insecticides, apply surface insecticides in cracks and crevices, along baseboards, and infested surfaces and outside barrier treatments. Use baits in other areas that are untreated by residual insecticides.

Bedbugs (bed bugs): Clean floors and surfaces by vacuuming. Apply as a coarse, low-pressure spray to harborage areas including crevices, baseboards, loose plaster, behind bed frames and headboards, beneath beds and furniture, and to bed springs and bed frames. Do not apply to furniture surfaces or mattresses where people will be laying or sitting. Infested bedding should not be treated, but should be removed, placed in sealed plastic bags, and taken for laundering and drying at high temperatures.

Cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, firebrats, silverfish, and spiders: Apply as a coarse, low-pressure spray to areas where these pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, attics and eaves, cabinets, behind and under refrigerators, sinks, furnaces and stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices.

Bees, flies, mosquitoes, and wasps: Apply directly to walls, ceilings, window screens, and other resting areas as a residual surface treatment. May be used inside residential buildings as well as in and around carports, garages, and storage sheds. Use caution when treating nests of stinging insects as Cyonara 9.7 does not provide instant knockdown. Protective equipment for the applicator may be required. For best results, treat bee, wasp, and hornet nests late in the day when most insects will be present. Allow 2-3 days fo the colony to die and repeat if necessary.

Carpenter bees: Apply coarse spray to thoroughly wet wood surfaces where bees have been previously active or to provide protection against further damage. Apply early in the spring to prevent bees from invading wood. When bees have infested wood, surface applications can help control embedded larvae and bees that emerge from the wood.

Pantry pests (i.e., carpet beetle, cigarette beetle, confused flour beetle, lesser grain borer, red flour beetle, rice weevil, and sawtoothed grain beetle): Apply to cupboards, shelving, and storage areas. Remove all utensils, uncovered foodstuffs (or any having original package opened), and shelf paper before making application. Allow treated surfaces to dry and cover shelves with clean paper before replacing any utensils, foodstuff, or other items. Any foodstuff accidentally contaminated with treatment solution should be destroyed.

Boxelder bugs, centipedes, millipedes, pillbugs, and sowbugs: Apply around doors and windows and other places where these pests may be found or where they may enter premises. Treat baseboards, storage areas, and other locations. Apply barrier treatments to prevent infestation as described below.

Fleas and ticks: To control nuisance fleas and ticks (e.g. dog ticks) apply to kennels, yards, runs, and other areas where pets may frequent. For best coverage to control ticks, apply using a coarse fan spray to vegetation brush, branches, rock walls, and other areas near habitation where ticks may harbor or frequent. Treat entire area rather than making spot treatments, and retreat as necessary to maintain control. Do not apply to pasture or cropland, and do not allow animals and people access to treated areas until the deposit has dried. Applications can begin in the spring and can continue until frost to control both larvae and adult ticks.

Cluster flies: Apply in late summer or early fall before flies are observed alighting on surfaces. Apply thoroughly on siding, under eaves, and around windows and doors, paying attention to south-facing surfaces, but do not allow runoff to occur. Heavy precipitation prior to frost may require retreatments to maintain protection. In winter and spring when flies become active and are emerging, interior crack and crevice and void treatments can help reduce the infestation, along with ULV or general surface application in infested attics or unoccupied lofts.

Litter beetles (darkling, hide, and carrion beetles) and flies In animal housing (such as poultry houses): To control adult litter beetles, apply CYONARA 9.7 to walls and floors at clean out, before reintroduction of animals. This will suppress beetles that escaped earlier treatment and will help delay onset of future infestations. Pay attention to areas where beetles frequently occur, such as walls, supports, cages, stalls, and around feeders.

To help control flies, apply a directed application to horizontal surfaces and overhead areas and allow to dry before reintroduction of animals.

Application Within Food Handling Establishments:

For places other than private residences in which exposed food is held, processed, prepared, or served including, but not limited to, areas for receiving, storage, packing (canning, bottling, wrapping, boxing), preparing foods, edible waste storage, and enclosed processing systems (mills, dairies, edible oils, syrups), and serving areas: Use as a crack and crevice or spot treatment in and around both food and nonfood areas. Apply in small amounts directly into cracks and crevices, using equipment capable of delivering a pin stream of insecticide, in points between different elements of construction, between equipment and floor, openings leading to voids and hollow spaces in walls, equipment and bases. Food contact surfaces and equipment should be cleaned with an effective cleaning compound and rinsed with potable water before using. Limit individual spot treatments to an area no larger than 20% of the treated surface. Individual spot treatments should not exceed two sq/ft. Take extreme care that the product is not introduced into the air. Avoid contamination of food and food processing surfaces.

Application Within Food Serving Areas:

For facilities where foods are served, such as dining rooms: Apply as a crack and crevice or spot treatment to selective surfaces such as baseboards, under elements of construction, and into cracks and crevices. Avoid treating surfaces likely to be contacted by food. (Do not apply when facility is in operation or foods are exposed.) Food must be covered or removed in area being treated. Do not apply directly to food or allow applications to contaminate food.

NOTE: Application of this product in the food areas and/or food serving areas of food handling establishments other than as a spot and/or crack and crevice treatment is NOT permitted. Use of application equipment such as the Micro-Injector or Actisol applicator in food areas should be limited to crack and crevice treatment only.

Livestock/Poultry Housing Structures and Pet Kennels

Apply as a general surface (including directed sprays) and/or crack and crevice treatment. Control is enhanced when interior and exterior perimeter applications are made in and around the livestock, poultry, and pet housing structures. Normal cleaning practices of the structure also must be followed along with applications of CYONARA 9.7 to effectively control the crawling and flying insect pests listed in the table. For unoccupied areas of livestock barns or housing structures, apply to floors, vertical, and overhead surfaces where crawling or flying insect pests are or may be present. Feeders, waters, and feed carts should be covered before application to prevent contamination. Do not apply to milk rooms or feed rooms. Pay attention to animal areas including stanchions, pipes, windows and doors, and areas where insect pests hide or congregate. Exterior applications to south facing walls and foundation perimeters can help prevent interior infestations of flying and crawling insect pests.

For poultry houses, apply to floor area (birds grown on litter) or to walls, posts, and cage framing (birds grown in cages). Application should also be made into cracks and crevices around insulation. Reapply after each grow out or sanitation procedure. Indoor control can be enhanced by making perimeter treatments around the outside of building foundations to prevent immigrating adult beetles. Apply in a uniform band 1 - 3 ft. up and 2 - 6 ft. out from foundation. Maintaining a year-round treatment program will prevent background populations from reaching problem levels.

Foam Applications

CYONARA 9.7 may be converted to a foam and the foam used to treat structural voids to control or prevent pests including ants, bees, termites (above ground only), wasps, or other arthropods harboring in walls, under slabs, or in other void areas.

I move to Phoenix in 2011. Everyone I knew told me I needed pest control. I was concerned because all the companies in the area said they will come every 2 months, and I had to remove my 2 cats and 2 small dogs from the house. A cousin of mine recommended Cyonara 9.7. This product is OUTSTANDING!!! And the price is just icing on the cake. Just as a precaution, when I spray the back, I take my pets to the front yard for 24 hours. The professionals told me they would have to come every other month. I spray the Cyonara 9.7 twice a year with excellent results. I have recommended this products whenever I've had an opportunity!!!

Crossing the barrier = DEAD
I've used the cyonara 9.7 for the last six years and found it to be extremely effective at maintaining a barrier. If you find something has crossed your barrier, rest assured it is on it's final steps. It has been effective against american roaches, spiders including black widow, centipedes, scorpions, and most ants. It will kill tarantulas which is unfortunate.
Review by Dave / (Posted on 6/16/2016)
Fantastic product!
I originally bought this product Alabama to use against keeping the black widows out of my house. Since then I have decided to use it in North Dakota and it does a phenomenal job. I had some friends here whose front porch was infested with spiders and eggs. I went on a Friday morning, sprayed the entire porch and parameter of the house. By Sunday, everything was dead and the house was free of spiders and other small critters. I will continually use this product and have led other people to buying this product.

Good product. Works effectively on many insects but is not for mites.
I have used it twice already and like it.

Very good product
I worked for years in the pest control industry. Summers here are brutal and we have some very challenging insect issues. I worked as a remote which meant I was a long way from my home office making it hard to resupply when busy. I had bought a bottle of this to use just around my home but I was running low one day so I took it along with me and used it to treat the exteriors of my clients homes. It turned out to be an amazing product. It has a bit of an odor but for exterior use it was wonderful. It was initially designed for use here in the Southwestern heat and damaging UV rays to combat scorpions. It does the job for sure! I love it.

Knocked down the bugs
I purchased Cyanara specifically for mosquitoes and biting flies. A coworker recommended it to me and I used it prior to my house guests arriving for Indepence Day weekend to treat the yard. I was and remain very impressed with how it worked.

We purchased Cyonara to address an Asian Beetle problem (we live in a rural area next to soybean fields). Last spring we vacuumed upwards of 400+ Asian beetles a day. This year we applied Cyonara to the inside of our house. Since then we’ve had about one Asian Beetle a day!

Was a skeptic..... But my mind has been changed!
I have used a LOT of different (store bought) products to keep bugs out of my house. I live just inside a national forest and spiders are just the WORST! Lots of other bugs too. But all year, I get spiders inside and outside my house. I hate them. I bought the cyonara not really expecting much but hoping. It was AMAZING! I sprayed twice last summer for bugs and the last time (before today 3/27/2015), I sprayed, was November of last year! I haven't had even ONE bug in my house since then! The year before, I was finding bugs all over the house on a regular basis. I also used it to spray my yard last summer. It worked pretty well for that too. Minimized the flies and mosquitoes. Also, I haven't noticed any termite tunnels on my foundation since using this either. So, all around, a GREAT product! Definitely ordering the bigger bottle next time since I KNOW this works!

Holy Shemole Batman
One of the better pyrethroids. Low application concentration so product lasts. I kind of like that it has an odor so I know where it was applied. Oder disappears when dry. Only drawback is that I have to use the leaf blower to clear all the dead insects from the garage and porch every couple of days. Persistence is equal to other pyrethroids.

Service and price, as always, is superb.

"MUST HAVE" Product for your Home
I found out about Cyonara 9.7 and Do It Yourself Pest Control on a local news story about 2 years ago.

Cyonara 9.7 is a pest control company in a bottle!!! I brought my first bottle that last me about 1.5 yrs. With the ability to apply it indoors and out I don't need to look for additional products. The big plus is that I only have to treat my home a couple times a year.

If you haven't gotten this product, GET IT.

Works Great
We purchased this because my husband had brought home bed bugs from a relatives house. Even though we only had them in our bed room we sprayed our whole house with this from top to bottom. We never saw bed bugs again, and where we used to have a ant problem that stopped as well. And anytime I saw a bug in my house it was a DEAD bug. And the bottle we bought actually lasted us a couple of years.

Ant trails cease to exist

A Great Product !!!!
I live in a log cabin in northern Michigan. I watched carpenter bees attacking the logs and things got so bad that I finally hired an exterminator to take care of it, he charged me $600.00/year, then the following year tried to raise the price. I did some research and found this product, I can tell you it works better then the professional exterminators product, I couldn't be happier! I have now been using it for about 4 years and it really works.

House flies
We live in an old farm house and have had major fly issues inside. Even after trying to fill every crack, they still came in. I sprayed the outside of the house with Cyonara 9.7 at the beginning of summer and didn't have a relapse of flies until this month. It got so bad the flies covered the windows like a scene from the Amityville horror movie. I sprayed again, inside and out this time. Within a few hours there were hundreds of dead flies. I bought Cyonara 9.7 because of reviews, plus the fact it is safe for kids, pets and for use in food preparation areas if you follow label directions.

I love the stuff- bug hate it!
Had a problem with spider crickets... nasty looking little critters. Tried all the store stuff to no avail. This product took care of them and all of the other critters in my area (NJ). Yeah, it has a little bit of a smell when you first spray, but it goes away after a day. It's not like you have to leave the house because of the odor. I use it inside and out. Two years later I'm back for my next 8 oz. bottle. I'd reccommend it to anyone and everyone.

Excellent kill ratio
This spray is very good for just about any household insect pest, spiders and scorpions. I would recommend using a paper mask at least when spraying as it does have an odor.
Review by Pestman / (Posted on 10/2/2012)
Great Product!
I switched to this from Cyper WP inside the house due to having dark brown baseboards. The Cyper was good but left a residue (we were warned about that in the remarks).

Anyway, others report a slight smell kind of like burnt plastic for a few minutes, but it's very minor.

More importantly, our major target pest is the scorpions around here, which are very thick in this area. This stuff will kill them for sure. We treat quarterly and save a bunch of money, and get to do it when we want to...

I should mention that scorpions are exceptionally hard to kill with chemicals, as they are in the same family with spiders, and not insects... What I am getting at here, is that if you can kill a scorpion with this stuff, normal bugs don't stand a chance... We see some partially dead scorpions every now and then (they crawl right through anything you can slide a credit card through), but NEVER any other kinds of bugs.

I had tried some other roach spray from Walmart, but it didn't do the trick. I liked this product , even though it has a funny smell when you first spray.
This little bottle is a high concentrate, so I am able to make more with it.

Kills roaches, crickets and spiders
I live in South Carolina and have a big problem with roaches, spiders and crickets around the patio and pool area during the warm months, which is a long time in South Carolina. I had gotten the ready to use bottles of bug spray from hardware stores, and had a little success with the roaches, but none with the crickets or spiders.
I sprayed the Cyonara last spring, and I am back for another one. The people at www.doyourownpestcontrol.com were very knowledgeable and got the product to me fast. I also bought the B&G Dura Sprayer that is the best I have had for the money.
Wish I bought Cyonara years ago!

Great for scorpions
I moved into a new home in the Phoenix area a year ago and found that we had a huge amount of bark scorpions. This being my third home in the area and first with scorpions, I had no idea how to deal with them. I had been using a pest control service for years and their poison was completely ineffective. They told me that you can't use poison to kill scorpions and simply must kill their food and they will go away. I finally fired them and started using this Cyonara 9.7 product. Let me tell you that whoever said you can't kill scorpions with poison hasn't tried this stuff. I still find some in the house and yard from time to time but when I do they are DEAD! I will recommend this product to anyone with scorpions and I am back to purchase more.

This product is a highly effective bedbug killer, and great for roaches
As an exterminator, I have seen and used quite a few bedbug insecticides. They vary from ok to really really good, Cyonora 9.7 is really, really good. It is concentrated so a little goes a long way. I rate this as the weapon of choice. especially for tough infestations.
This product also packs a good quick knockdown for roaches.

It worked for my spiders
Sprayed the outside of my house thoroughly and the next day there were dozens of dead crickets and spiders. I've reapplied once since the initial at day 21 and still seeing dead spiders, grasshoppers, and beetle like bugs. I've only seen a few spiders inside the home but compared to before it's effectiveness is great. Before Cyonara we were seeing spiders nearly everyday in the home. Smell goes away after a day and odor is not "unpleasant." Don't have roaches so can't compare that. I love the pyrethroid poisons and will NEVER go back to Ortho, Triazicide etc. etc.
