How Dr T's Snake Away Works
The Jacobson's organ in snakes is used with the tongue to sense its environment. The snake flicks out its tongue and picks up the scent of vapor molecules(Naphthalene). When the snake pulls in its tongue, the vapor molecules are transferred to the odor-sensitive Jacobson's organ. Naphthalene, a volatile product, and active ingredient, vaporizes and is brought into the sensory receptor (Jacobson's organ) and creates an immediate interference that is repressive enough to close down the sensory system and scare the snake into a hasty retreat. It was found to be so effective that it protected our military during the Gulf War from sand vipers and cobras.
Pet and children safe when used as directed.

When to Apply Snake A Way

While this product may deter a variety of snakes, it is not expected to consistently repel snakes of the following types: corn snakes and other rat snakes, "moccasin" snakes such as cottonmouths and copperheads. The efficacy of the repellent varies with taxonomy. Some species are repelled with remarkable effectiveness, while others are not.
However, all species tested, exhibited some degree of behavioral avoidance of the repellent. There are circumstances in which individual snakes of all species tested will cross a strip of repellent, so the product cannot be regarded as an absolute barrier to these reptiles.

Retreatment When the odor of Snake-A-Way becomes faint, its effectiveness may be diminished. If this occurs during a season when snakes are active retreat.

- I love it
I am very happy with the product. I haven't seen any snakes around the house. Before I started using the product I had a snake try to crawl into the house when I opened the door! Freaked me out and knew I had to do something. Thanks Snake-a-Way.
- Great product
We live in the desert. Prior to using Dr T's Snaked away we would see three to four diamondback rattle snakes a season (May thru Sept). About four years ago a neighbor advised us of SnakeAway. I have used it four times a year about every three months and not seen a rattlesnake in that time frame. With the addition of a pet border collie it is a necessity to snake proof the property. Like I said a Great product .
- haven't seen one since
Put the granules around the outside perimeter of our yard and haven't seen one since. It's been a couple of weeks. ( it's still late spring here in Michigan )
- Need these snakes gone!
Smells like moth balls and stings like hell if you get the dust in your eyes but it works. Had two cottonmouths in a pond by the house. Used a spreader to put this around the house and around the pond. Left a little path I wanted the snakes to go. Next day, saw a trail right were wanted them to go (away and down the hill). No more snakes around my place!
- Works Okay
We have more snakes than we need in KY. I spread this out around the yard perimeter and have seen a definite reduction, but not all or I'd give it five stars. Snakes are ok because they eat the rodents, just don't want them in my yard.
This product consumed the house in a toxic odor that was not safe to live in. This product is NOT sold in California because it contains a known carcinogen. I can't believe it has been approved by the FDA and this product would not be safe for pets, children or adults.
- Worked great!
Saw a long black snake in my yard and FREAKED! Put out your Snake Away and haven't seen one since. Thanks guys!
