Add ALG Super Marking Dye to the PenaShield mix, so it will be easy to see where you are spraying. I would mix it in a separate container using hot water and then use a pump sprayer. Once you mix PenaShield, use it the same day and clean your sprayer.

PenaShield Wood Preservative - Fully Pentrates Wood

PenaShield is a ready to use formulation with Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate (a natural borate salt), just like Boracare. Penashield is a termiticide and wood preservative in a patented penetrant.

Use a hand pump sprayer or a brush to apply Penashield to all structural wood and any other building material surfaces, which can include concrete, block walls, plumbing pipes, OSB, plywood and sheet rock.

Yield: One Gallon covers 150-250 square feet.

Does weather affect the application?
PenaShield should not be applied when it is raining or snowing. Treated wood should be protected from rain or snow for at least 24 hours after application.

Application	Only apply PenaShield to bare wood surfaces. Remove any finishes or water repellents before applying PenaShield. Clean any dirt to make sure that the wood is free of contaminates. One gallon of PenaShield will treat 150-250 square feet of wood surface (one coat). Coverage will vary depending on the surface texture and porosity of the wood. A second coat would be needed it the wood is 1 inch or thicker. Apply the second coat after the first coat has been absorbed, about 20 minutes. Apply PenaShield to the point of runoff. On wood with only one or two sides available, treat at least twice to the point of runoff. Repeat applications of PenaShield should be made at least 20 minutes apart. Read and follow all label instructions before use.

More Instructions	Notes for Powderpost Beetles and Penashield Application Powderpost Beetles may have adults emerging from treated wood up to a year, due to their life cycles. If the wood is too dry (less than 15%), depth of penetration with the Penashield may only occur to the top 1/4 inch. To solve this, spray the wood first with water to increase moisture.
