Talpirid Mole Traps

Lawn damage caused by moles plagues homeowners and lawn care specialists. Seldom seen as they tirelessly tunnel underground, moles leave their telltale marks aboveground as unsightly "mole hills," mounds of soil, or grassless brown streaks.

Made of glass-filled nylon, Talpirid Mole Trap will not rust and can be used in all types of soil.

Bell's Talpirid Mole Trap is a heavy-duty, dual-spring trap designed for use by the professional pest control market. Talpirid Mole Trap offers professionals speed and safety in servicing mole accounts.

Talpirid Setting Instructions

Talpird Mole Trap Instructions

This "hands-free" trap is fast and easy to place and set. After identifying and properly preparing an active mole tunnel, place the trap jaws in the active mole tunnel and step on the trap's yellow foot pedal which sets the trigger below the surface. Once set, the low-profile Talpirid Mole Trap sits close to the ground - no bulky metal or equipment sticking out of the ground. The trap's dual springs ensure maximum catching power. When a mole encounters the underground trigger, the yellow pedal springs up making notification of capture easy and safe.

Releasing Of Moles

Captured moles are released by removing the trap from the ground and compressing the pedal by hand. Using the safety release button, the trap can be easily and safely disengaged and relocated to other mole tunnels, depending on mole pressure. Talpirid Mole Trap can be used over and over again.

Worked like a charm!
Our yard was full of tunnels and we tried every type of repellent without results. I bought 2 of these traps and once the main tunnels were properly identified trapped 2 moles in one day. These are easy to set up as long as you use an edger to cut the grooves for the blades, and make sure the indentation for the trigger is clear.

Now the ground is freezing but will definitely use these again in the spring!

Great mole traps that work
I have a large 2 acre yard with woods bordering most of it, so I get lots of moles. For years I've been using the wire loop traps with fairly good success, but the past couple of years I haven't had any luck with them. I think they are corroded to the point that they don't trip as well as they did when they were newer. So, this year I decided to research new mole traps and came across this one, which had good reviews, so I ordered 4 of them. I had some trouble setting them at first in my clay soil. I made a tool out of half inch plate, that I welded together into a "U" shape, that I pound into the ground with a hammer, and now setting these traps is a breeze. So far I've gotten every mole I've gone after, 5 for 5. I would recommend these traps. They're well made and they work, plus they won't corrode like metal traps.

Disappointed
My husband followed instructions. The trap was triggered twice but nothing trapped. Quality seems good but we determined it has to be set "perfectly" to trap the mole.

This one works
Like all mole traps, it can be a struggle to set at first. But once you figure it out, it's actually easier and more convenient than other traps I've tried. And it works. I caught 3 moles in 4 days. That's 3 more than I've caught with any other type of trap. So far I'm impressed.

Expected my Mole to be dead
After ordering this contraption, I expected my mole to be dead. I believe that we are chasing him around but are always behind it. When we put the trap out, he does not return. He moves on, and our trap needs to be moved constantly.

Could not set trap
WE tried various methods and re-read the instructions but could not get the trap to set. It would not catch in the set position.

Does not work in heavy clay soils
Be aware that this product has limitations depending on your soil. In heavy clay soil, moles tunnel much deeper and thus out of the reach of this trap. Unless you can clearly see many tunnels just below the surface of your lawn, don't waste your money.

Excellent product.
Bought 4 traps and set them the next day. Moles had destroyed my back yard last year. First day caught two adults. Repositioned and reset. Second day caught a half grown youngster. Moved and reset trap. Two days later caught a third adult. No signs recently and three traps still set. Devastating effect on the critters. Love it.

Talpirid mole trap
I received this on a Wednesday and set it up and on Thursday afternoon trapped my first mole. I again set it in the same spot and caught the second mole Friday morning. I didn't see any more mole activity after that. Happy camper here.

Worked First Night
Mole problem in yard all year. Ordered this from Do-It-Yourself Pest Control on Friday afternoon. It arrived on Monday. Set two traps exactly as video demonstrated. By nightfall, a gigantic mole was trapped. Fast delivery. Easy to use. Worked within hours. Worked perfectly for a large adult mole, but do question if the scissors are spaced a little too far apart for small and juvenile moles.

OK, under some conditions
I bought this trap after extensive research on mole traps. After watching the video many times, I put the trap to use. I found that this trap is not good for moist soil conditions in western PA as the jaws gum up with soil and are easily blocked by debris that you can't see under the soil. The trap requires moderate foot pressure to set the trap and the trap has a tendency to move deeper when setting in softer soils, which can alter the effectiveness of the trap. I am still waiting to catch a mole and the trap has only been triggered one time so far with a miss. One other area of concern is a design concern. The jaws are pretty far apart and a small mole sets the trap off by pushing up the trap trigger pan that is located in between the jaws. The only problem is that the mole is smaller than the distance between the trap jaws which will result in the mole not being caught with the jaws because it is actually between the jaws and not under the jaws as needed for a catch. The trap should probably be redesigned with a much smaller distance between the jaws to increase the likelihood of a catch.

Finally....A trap/product that works!!
I've been battling moles for just over a year now and just like many others, I've tried so many other things but with unsuccessful results. I purchased two of these traps, located an active tunnel and had a mole captured in less than 24hrs.....thank you!!

Just a few hours
I received this trap on a Tuesday evening and promptly set it out. I had located the active tunnels prior to the traps arrival so I knew exactly where I wanted to put it. Watch the YouTube video!
I checked the trap first thing on Wednesday morning and it had clearly been triggered. Mole problem eliminated!!
This device works as advertised. It is very easy to use and can be used over and over. I highly recommend it!!

Great Product!
I have also tried everything to get rid of my moles. I ordered these and I always capture a mole. The only thing would be that they are a little hard to set. But they work wonderfully, a great product!

Thanks! Great product
I bought two of your mole traps earlier this week.
They arrived yesterday and I set them last night. This morning I had caught a mole which has been destroying my yard for weeks. I have tried every remedy suggested and nothing has worked for me until the traps.

OUTSTANDING
I have been frustrated by moles for YEARS. This is the first simple sane approach that works:

1) It is VERY easy to use.
2) It is much more satisfying than using poisons, parasites, etc., and other complex solutions.
3) I caught two moles in the first two nights I used it.

This is a no brainer.

I caught one within 1 hour !! I recommend this trap
I have been fighting with moles for a couple years on and off/...I went to war , and decided to use both the Talpirid bait and Talpirid traps...
I ordered 2 traps and a box of bait. I set them out according to the directions afer viewing the video. I was a little confused if I was setting them over the right areas, but put them out any way. I caught one within 1 hour !! I recommend this trap.

Thanks for an amazing product
I received my first Talpirid Mole Trap and installed it yesterday afternoon. Later that afternoon, impressively, I had a mole capture. This product is amazingly much easier and more effective than past traps used unsuccessfully. So, I ordered an additional unit today. Thanks for an amazing product
