Active Guard Mattress Liners

Walt Cline - Pest Control Professional Pro Tip: "Active Guard IS NOT A STAND ALONE SOLUTION. Recent studies show they work because the Permethrin in the liner stops bed bugs from feeding and females do not drop their eggs (stopping reproduction). As part of a treatment plan they will help with your current problem, but more important, they help prevent the problem in the first place. Hotels, dorms, resorts are big users of this."

ActiveGuard Mattress Liners are treated with Permethrin and will continue to kill bed bugs and dust mites for two years. ActiveGuard Mattress Liners are the only mattress liners that actively kills bed bugs within 72 hours. These liners not only kill the current bug infestations but will protect against new infestations. ActiveGuard Mattress Liners have been implemented in major hotel chains internationally and nationally. ActiveGuard Liners were initially developed as a tool against dust mites that produce asthma-associated allergens by a team of medical entomologists in London. These durable mattress liners were developed as a natural extension of the globally accepted use of malaria nets. Permethrin-impregnated bed nets have been used for decades to provide mosquito protection because of the repellent nature of permethrin against mosquitoes. EPA issued a new label for ActiveGuard Liners in 2012, removing use restrictions; it is available for people of all ages, even small children.

Difference Between Active Guard Liners and Bed Bug Encasements

  • The material in Active Guard Mattress Liners is soft but very durable; does not rip when installing like many other bed bug mattress encasements. These liners are flexible, odorless and comfortable. Encasements encase the bed bugs only while the Active Guard Liners kill bed bugs and dust mites. Bed bugs can live up to 15 months inside a typical bed bug encasement, so it is necessary to keep bed bug encasements in place. The ActiveGuard Liners start working immediately, killing both bed bugs and dust mites.
  • Bed Bug mattress encasements need an exact measurement for a correct fit in order to fit tightly. The Active Guard Mattress Liner uses elastic as a fitted sheet that can fit up to 17" deep or longer mattresses.

Measurements

Size Measurements
Single/Twin 75 x 38 inches - Fits up to 17" in depth and XL lengths
Double/Full 75 x 54  inches- Fits up to 17" in depth and XL lengths
Queen 80 x 60  inches - Fits up to 17" in depth and XL lengths
King/ Cal King 80 x 76 inches - Fits up to 17" in depth and XL lengths

Bed Bug Treatments

Active Guard Mattress Liners are designed to be incorporated into a bed bug treatment program, using insecticides and monitors. This integrated pest management tool is not a stand alone product for bed bug control. Bed Bug treatments begin with a complete inspection, then preparation of the rooms that are to be treated, then professional bed bug control products.

The Active Guard Mattress Liners kill bed bugs in the mattresses and box springs, where bed bugs prefer to hide. They can be fitted on a mattress or box springs.

Dust Mite Control

Instead of using insecticide sprays and dusts, use Active Guard Mattress Liners for dust mite control. There is no need to have to wash and reinstall your mattress encasings every couple weeks. These mattress liners do not just trap the dust mites, they kill them with a controlled-release formulation, for up to two years. Place Active Guard mattress liner on top of the mattress, beneath the bottom sheet or other current mattress liner.

Works as advertised
This works as advertised. The mattress covers along with treatment by a professional (who recommended them) is the only way to go.

Works in high traffic areas
I own a small motel and we've had some bed bug issues. We bought 10 of these to try and none of those rooms have gotten infected.

Hasn't made a difference
Have been fighting these liitle creeps since mid June (its now end of Aug) when my parents came to visit. Have been spraying every 7 days, vaccuuming twice a week, washing and drying all of my clothes on super hot and keeping them in a plastic tub in the bathroom. I bagged everything with Nuvan strips that I couldn't toss immediately and have kept it all bagged. I buy new white sheets every week and toss the old ones to be able to see if there are any new bugs (I bleed everytime I'm bitten). I purchased these about 2 weeks ago hoping they'd at least let me sleep in peace. NOPE. still waking up to sheets dotted in blood. I've given 2 stars because I haven't seen any signs they are living on the bed. My hope is that these covers, even if they don't kill them or deter them from feeding, will at least deter them from living on the bed.

While Active Guard Liners may aid in keeping bed bugs off of the mattress itself, they do not address the many cracks and crevices around the bed in which bed bugs hide between feedings. Treating these hiding spots is a crucial step in the treatment.

Don't waste your money
I was hoping this liner would be the simple answer that I was looking for to get rid of my bed bugs. I was unfortunately wrong. I purchased the twin sized liner, the shipping was speedy and the delivery was quick. I was very excited to get rid of my problem.

Four days with my mattress liner and there has been absolutely no change. Even after following the directions on the bag, I still find bed bugs on the bed, completely unaffected by the liner. Total disappointment. The only thing that the liner has been proven to be good for is spotting the bugs so I can squish them with my own hands. My liner is now heavily blood stained.

Don't waste your money.

Active Guard liners contain Permethrin which is commonly used against Bed Bugs by Pest Control Professionals. These are not intended as a stand alone solution. They work best when used as part of an overall Bed Bug treatment plan, you must still treat the room. Unfortunately 4 days is not long enough to evaluate the effectiveness of a treatment plan. Typical treatment plans require a few weeks before results are achieved.

In your case, we recommend that you contact a Professional Pest Control Operator.

No sign of them
We had our house sprayed 3 times by a professional, it seemed these pesky little things always found a way to re-appear. After the last spray, just when I thought they were gone, I woke up in the middle of the night to find one in the bed with me, killed it. Next night I found another, ugh!!!! Killed it too. So I found this website and immediately ordered one of these liners. So far so good, I haven't seen or had any bites since. When my husband was putting this on he found one on the bottom of our box springs (which had been encased with bed bug approved covers from Bed, Bath and Beyond) but there was evidence others had been there along with the new one he found. Maybe that one was the last one, but I'm still happy with my purchase. I still think about these things returning and I pray they never do. Never in my life have I had to deal with something like this and it's not been easy. We also purchased the Climexa powder and Tempid spray and coated everything real good, all around and under the bed, the legs of the bed too, and sprayed really good in the areas you could see. I bought some traps as well but am waiting to hear back from DIY as to the best placement of these. This company has been very helpful and I'm very appreciative!

Excellent Product
Purchased this product just based on what I read on the web site and I have to say the description of what this product can do is dead on. When I purchased this product it was after only seeing a few Bedbugs and since putting this on the bed after a few days I found a few dead ones and its been about 3 weeks and I have not found any after the initial find. I highly recommend this product everyone. The next time I plan a vacation I will purchase another one to take with me.

Must have product
My daughter had a minor bedbug problem in her room. I bought this product to be sure the problem didn't get out of hand. After just one day we only found 2 live ones and after that nothing. I checked everyday to reassure my daughter and all I found were dead ones. This product is definitely works and is worth purchasing!!.

It works!
These liners really work!! I'm using two right now for a mattress and box for my little brother and they are finally able to sleep. The first day with the liners they did get bitten, but then afterward they wake up every morning without bug bites. I'm going to follow up with some bug spray on the carpet and surrounding areas to make sure they don't come back.
