Tips - Advance 375 A Select Ant Bait Usage

  • Avoid the use of other insecticides or sprays on or near Advance 375 A Select Ant Bait, unless you are using non repellent insecticides like Phantom Aerosols or Taurus SC. Ants do not know non-repellents are present and will not scatter and enter your homes in other ways.
  • Ants will switch dietary needs and preferences when searching for food to take back to their colonies. They will choose either a protein based bait or a sugar based bait. Advance 375 A Granular Ant Bait works well with Optigard Ant Bait Gel . The Advance 375 A Select would supply the protein dietary needs and the Optigard would provide the sugar dietary needs for a complete selection of ant baits.

The bottom line is that the product works.
Excellent product that kills carpenter ants and is easy to use. It works for me and my neighbors have had a similar experience. I spread it outside where I see see them. At the suggestion of DIYS for inside the house, I cut water bottle plastic caps in half and add granules. Then I place the caps in strategic locations where I have seen the ants.

Advance 375A Select Ant Bait
I used to have a company come out and treat for ants because it was very hard to control the problem. It was very expensive and it was also difficult communicating with their technician.
Afterwards I found DIY pest control and their Advance 375A is working and I no longer have an issue with ants. In fact I think the company that came out to my home may have even used the same product. I highly recommend this product.

Great Product
This product attracts ants rapidly. The ants take the bait back to the nest and soon disappear. I highly recommend this product. You will not be disappointed.

Superb product
This is the third time in over 6 years that I have ordered the 2-pound container to help control carpenter ants. It is fast acting, and effective. I live next to a 5 acre woods and therefore total eradication is not possible; there will always be re-invasion. But control is possible. "375A" is a good "tool" for control. I very much like the mode of action for the active ingredient.

Very good ant bait.
This product really works good when the ants are foraging for protein. They pick it up as soon as it hits the ground.

Poof be gone!
I put a few granules in a bottle cap for ants that had invaded my kitchen counter area. Within a 24 hour period they were all gone. It's that simple!

Money well spent
Advance 375A is expensive, but it works exceptionally well. I can sprinkle this around a fire ant bed, and within seconds the ants are out and you start seeing the granules move into the bed. Within a week, that ant bed is dead. Originally I bought this for carpenter and acrobat ants, but it is very effective on all three types.

Worked better than I'd hoped!
We were having terrible problems with pharaoh ants all over the house. Regular sprays bought from the store didn't do anything, and sugar based baits were not attracting them. As soon as I used this protein based bait, they immediately went for it. I also used outside near our trash cans, where there were trails.. Within 24 hours, not a single ant could be seen. It has been two weeks and still ant free! The pro tips on this site pointed me in the right direction for the correct bait to use.

Recommended if you can keep animals from accessing it
Argentine ants invade my home in the SF Bay Area. The ants were nearly eliminated after I sprinkled Advance 375A on the inside of the foundation (we have a dirt crawl space under the house with a perimeter concrete foundation). Once-a-year treatment has been adequate so far. I don't use this on the outside of the house or in the yard because it is irresistable to my dog, who promptly seeks it out and eats it. I only use it in spaces where animals can't get access.

My Go-To answer for ants
This product is awesome! Easy to apply and very effective. I find the ants I encounter require a repeated application of Advance. The larger size enables scheduled application to ensure the ant population is hugely reduced in a couple weeks. Again, very easy to apply to the perimeter of my house. I have made Advance 375A part of my annual yard maintenance processes.

Great Product
This is the only product that has actually worked for ants in my kitchen and my sister's kitchen. I've actually seen them taking the bait from where I placed it!
Review by KC / (Posted on 8/9/2017)
Great results. No more ants.
I used this both inside and outside as two different species of ants were entering the house and I could not locate their entrance(s). After a couple of days, the ants disappeared. I assume they and their fellow nest inhabitants are no longer living, or they may have been abducted by aliens. Either way, I'm happy they're gone thanks to Advance 375A ant bait.

Good product Good supplier
Great product which I have used for a few years now on multiple properties. Product is always shipped promptly.

I use this with great effect on the ant mounds that pop up on my pavers each spring. I sprinkle the granules on the affected areas and immediately the tiny ants carry them back to their colonies. Typically, a day later I will a significant reduction of roaming ants, and 2-3 days later the only ants I will see are several dead ones on the mounds. After that they are totally gone. Advance 375A is the best ant control product I have ever used. Highly recommended.

It did its job gloriously
I had this bait and Invict Xpress Granular bait in bait stations to try to kill off a colony of ants that settled in our kitchen. This bait was taken the most over the Invict Xpress bait. The ants loved this bait and that was their downfall. After two weeks I cannot find a single ant in the kitchen now.

I have been using this product for several years and always have great results. Whenever I see a new carpenter ant nest, I sprinkle some of the Advance 375A bait all over it and watch the ants immediately bring it down into their nest. a couple of days later, the ants are all gone.

Great stuff
Works great on getting rid of carpenter ants. I have used it for years.
It needs to be applied every other year or so.

Great product
Have used this several times for ants (particularly carpenter ants or other protein eating ants) - they gobble it up. take it back home with them, and a few days later, they're gone. Highly recommended

Pretty good
I am on my second container of this product. Works pretty well. I sometimes mix it with a small amount of maple syrup to better attract the ants... Seems to do the jobs after about a week..

worked great against carpenter ants
Really impressed with the results. I tried both the granules and the gel bait. The carpenter ants didn't touch the gel bait but when I dropped these granules they immediately began picking them up and bringing them back to the nest. On the first day they were bringing in the granules at about tablespoon an hour. Within 3 days they were all dead. My nest was located indoors. I also tried using the granules outside but observed no effect. I believe the difference was that indoors I knew the location of the nest, whereas outdoors I would see carpenter ants around but did not know where the nest was.

Not so good for the tiny ants
I bought this product and also the gel baits to deal with a tiny ant problem on board my boat. The grains in this product were too big for the little ants to carry away and although I used a pestle and mortar to grind it up they tended to bypass it in favour of the gel baits.

Works great for us
Another day, another ant infestation in our S Florida home. We had previously used the Advion Ant Baits with much success but these ants weren't interested. Ordered the Advance 375A and it arrived very quickly. I immediately went to work and was so impressed! The ants went crazy and since then we have had no problems. I've seen maybe one or two ants but nothing like before.
One suggestion: if you have pets, keep them away from these granules. They will eat them up.

It worked the first day!
I used the bait as directed. The day after the bait was set, I checked all ant hills and they were mostly inactive. The second day after it had rained, I still saw no activity. It has been years since we had our back yard back. We live in a desert community where ants of all types are rampant in yards. This was the first time that I felt like I might be able to control their numbers. Thank you for a bait that works and is relatively safe.

Great for carpenter ants at our Alaskan cabin
Every summer we are inundated by carpenter ants at our homestead out in the Alaskan Bush. We live in the middle of several acres of boreal forest so there is no way to get rid of these pests permanently and the potential for infestation is extreme; but these products have helped to reduce and eliminate structural damage caused by carpenter ants significantly.

Advance 375A granules sprinkled generously OUTSIDE around our foundations and woodpile have drastically reduced the ant problem. Sprinkling the granules around any nests we find also helps a lot. This is more of a protien bait, so we couple it up with a sweet outdoor liquid bait in feeders and a sweet indoor gel bait in feeders by the doors and windows. We have also sprayed the crawlspace and the woodshed with a residual poison, but that is mostly as extra insurance.

Each spring, right after the snow breaks up, we start seeing the ants in/around the house. We put out our baits, and within a few days the forager scouts are out of the house, and are completely gone from the outside within a week. We normally reapply the baits 2-3 times a summer whenever we start seeing the ants again and that keeps them from building any nests in our structures or hollowing out the timbers.

Ants do not take it
This product has not worked for me. Ants do not pick it up.(Carpenter and large black ants coming in via window sill).
I spread some out at the entry point and they crawl over it and continue into house. I read somewhere that sometimes ants are looking for something sweeter. I will change the baits to a sweet based bait, since Advance is for the protein needs

Worked on carpenter ants
Seems to have fixed the carpenter ant problem at one of my rental houses. I'll check back again in a few weeks and post a follow-up if they're not gone.

Great for Fire Ants in Spring Texas
July 2012: This will be my third purchase of the 375A.

I live in a typical 3-2-2 in a typical sub-division.

I shake it out just before sunset and watch the ants grab it and take it away. It's kinda' fun. I can visible watch the ants grab and carry the Advance granules toward their nest as soon as i sprinkle it. You know it''s working!!

If I see a nest forming I put a few extra shakes, that's it. They're DEAD suckers by next weekend! I've been fire-ant-free since i've been using it. (2008)

Shelf life seems good (can't figure out the date code) but it still works after a year on the shelf! (The ants are still grabbing the stuff and taking it home).

I sprinkle about half the bottle (1LB) of Advance 375 A around the entire yard twice a year, except last year! No need, no rain, no ants!. (Texas Drought)

This last bottle went a full year and the ants are still attracted to it. Let's see if they die? I'm sure they will.

Really happy with the product! And i wasn't paid to write this.

Fixed my carpenter ants, so-so on odorous ants
I had a pretty bad infestation of two varieties of ants. These Advance Granules did a bang up job on the carpenter ants, I haven't seen one for about two months, when I last dropped it.

While it says it's good for odorous ants, I'm not so sure. While these ants rarely ignored the granules, I'm not sure they actually ate any of it. While watching them, I would see ants "pulling" granules backwards, as if they're trying to bite it but they can't break it down into bitesize chunks. One down, one to go.

I have had an ant problem every summer for the last 4 years . A friend of mine recommended this product and I just wanted to say thank you very much for the fast service! Little creeps are carting off the granules like it's Thanksgiving! Thanks again!!! - PJ Walter
