Carpenter Bee Trap (Best Bee Trap- Carpenter Bee Solution)

Trap carpenter bees with this carpenter bee trap by Best Bee Traps. This carpenter bee trap is made of durable materials and imitates the natural nest of a carpenter bee. This carpenter bee trap is one of the best designs on the market due to its patented design. It mimics a carpenter bee nest with its angled entrance holes. It is shaped like a funnel to increase the amount of light in the wooden chamber and prevents the carpenter bees from escaping.

How Carpenter Bee Traps Works

The bee enters the hole, and then gets trapped in the wooden chamber, then drops into the bottle under the chamber. Once the carpenter bees start filling the trap, their pheromone will start attracting other carpenter bees. This particular carpenter bee trap is collected in a permanent receptacle with a cord attached to the bottom lid. Simply open the lid by pulling the cord, when the bottle is full.

Trap Placement

If you have a carpenter bee infestation, place the traps where the carpenter bees are active. Place the trap directly over the existing carpenter bee holes. We suggest using a long term residual insecticide, like Cyzmic CS or Cyper WSP, sprayed on the surfaces where they are burrowing, steering the bees away from your structure.

If you don't have carpenter bees yet, place traps at corners and peaks of the structures, preferably on the sunniest side of your home.

Benefits and Features

  • Mimics the natural nest of a carpenter bee
  • Unique funnel system reduces clogging and prevents carpenter bees from escaping.
  • Collects carpenter bees faster than other traps
  • Made from durable materials for all weather conditions
  • Each trap includes a hook, washer and string to make emptying the trap as simple as pulling the string.
  • Free of toxic chemicals
  • Low maintenance - no bottles or jars to replace
  • Recommended: one trap per 15 ft. radius of coverage

Excellent! Works exactly as described!
Works exactly as described! What satisfaction to see the carpenter bees get trapped and finally out of your life one x one!
Review by M / (Posted on 7/11/2020)
Bought my first traps 2 years ago put 2 each on 2 decks, each maybe 150 ft2. First month or two, nothing was trapped, but just when I was about to give up I found about 15 in one trap! I have had no bee holes drilled in either of my decks in 2 years but caught a lot of bees. The jars on the first traps I bought came loose after 2 years so I just bought the ones with the new design. My old termite inspector told me, among other untruths, they don't work. He was constantly trying to sell me treatments I didn't need and was disappointed to lose the $200+ he charged to spray chemicals on my deck after damage was done. I now have a new more honest termite inspector and pest expert who knows that these traps work and doesn't sell me expensive chemicals I don't need.Thank you for making and selling this product!

Get Rid of Carpenter Bees Forever
Worked like a charm. We had so many bees at the beginning of the season, put out 2 traps and now we have no problem. Wish that I would have gotten the traps sooner.

Takes time but works great!
After I put it out, few days nothing was happening. Then I noticed 2 regular wasps inside. And nothing again. I stopped watching. Yesterday I noticed one dead carpenter bee inside. Today there were two additional carpenter bees trying to get out and fighting. Finally is quiet on the porch - victory! I am happy, and I even made short video of those two bees hoping I could post it. Thank you for great product!

Trap worked quickly and efficiently!
This little, attractive trap worked great. I had an infestation of carpenter bees in a gazebo which I had to tear down. Then they started going after a pergola in my backyard. I put the trap on it, and within just a couple of days 13 female carpenter bees were trapped. I no longer have a problem with carpenter bees.

As soon as I put them up they started filling up. I originally bought only one about four years ago and I just bought three more. They hold up really well. I hate these bees and the trap works great.

I’ve have problems with carpenter bees leaving holes and a mess all over my house for years and finally decided to give something like this a try and couldn’t be happier! I closed off their previous holes and put a trap in the front and back of my house and have gotten about 30 bees in two weeks and counting! I even ordered more traps for family members. Would definitely recommend!

Exceptional Results
I have a barn that started getting chewed up this spring so I hung one of these along the eave just next to the damage and have been capturing about 2 per day staring the day I put it up. Just had to swat one down and put it inside to draw the others in. Could not be happier with this pest control.

Did the trick
I purchased three traps and have pretty much eliminated my bee problem. Prior to putting them on the covered porch they swarmed around and were very annoying, not to mention the damage they were doing to my cedar posts. Now I occasionally see one and my bet is that they will find their way to the trap.

It works!!!
This works!! It took about a week to catch our 1st carpenter bee, but after he was in there, they just kept coming! By the end of the day, we had 4! We have seen a huge decrease in the number of bees swarming over us trying to drill into our garage while we play outside! So grateful my kids are not in fear any longer!

this trap is the real deal. my 4 year old son was afraid to go in the front yard to play because of the carpenter bees that were hovering around my wood fence. I hung the trap on the fence, and have been catching 1-2 carpenter bees every day with no bait or poison. A+

Since we already have a problem, I didn't think this would be too effective but gave it a shot.Glad I ordered 2! After 2 days we got our first one, and now three days later have had ten so far. The number of bees swarming around our front porch are significantly less (we've had it seems up to 30 at one time buzzing around). Hanging up the second one tomorrow!!

Bag the bees.
The trap works good. I came up with my own idea of emptying the trap. Not all the bees are dead when it is full so they have to be emptied into a container and I did not want to spray because new bees might not come near the trap. I cut a small hole in a baggie to let the ring on the end of the string to pass through. Then slip the baggie over the clear trap bottom. Zip the baggie so it fits tightly. Open the trap door. Bees fall into the baggie. Zip the baggie as your pulling it down the trap and onto the string. When the string is the only thing in the bag you can spray into that opening. Bees will be dead in a few minutes.

Saved My Decks
I put 2 traps on each of my 2 new decks in the summer of 2018- I hung them from the top rail so they hang just outside the uprights of the railing where the bees usually attack. (I've had decks here for 30 years and lots of bee damage.) I hung them in the middle of each rail - not at the corners.

For 6 months, nothing happened. Then, one day, 5 bees were caught in each trap - 20 total. The traps saved my decks completely.

Someone else had posted something similar when I was first considering the product, so I was prepared to wait for results. I'm telling my experience so others will know to be patient too. These things work, and save the expense, pollution, and destruction caused by using pesticides.

Thanks for selling a great product!

great product
I looked at traps on other sites before buying this one. I definitely made the right choice. This is the only one with the convenient trap door on the bottom to let the captured bees out. Plus, it comes with a cord long enough to be able to do that even if it is mounted on a second floor hight. I'm very pleased with this purchase and will be back again when I need another.

Our exterminator was impressed with how well it worked
We had a terrible carpenter bee infestation on our deck. It was so bad that we were unable to use our outdoor grill. We made an appointment with a professional exterminator, but we had to wait a week before he could come to our home. We decided to give this bee trap a try. Within 2 days it had caught 4 bees, and then the bees kept coming. By the time the exterminator arrived a week later the bee trap was half full and we didn't see any other bees flying around. Our exterminator was very surprised by how well the trap worked. We went ahead with the professional extermination process anyway, but next year we will just use this bee trap.

would buy again
I bought two of these traps. One for the house and one for my shed.If you look at the picture of the trap you can see a hole in the green back board. Thought that it would be easy to mount by just screwing it to the wood column I have. No can do. The plastic tube that projects down has a latch/hinge on the back side that prevents the trap from sitting flat against the wall. I just used a 1/2 in thick board as a backer and screwed thru the plastic backing of the trap and thru the added board into the wood column. This gave the clearance needed so the trap can be opened. The second one by the shed I had an overhang so I mounted the trap with the plastic tube below that and it worked out fine. You can hang it from the attached string but I did not want to deal with the trap blowing around in high winds. I also bought the carpenter bee kit with the powder and concentrate for spraying. A little dust in the three holes that I found and sprayed the entire shed. Only caught one bee in the trap but I have not seen another bee since I sprayed the shed. The powder and spray did the job.

Traps are an effective solution in controlling Carpenter bees
The carpenter bee trap is a very effective solution to controlling these pesky and destructive insects. I have only one trap but once I found a good location that attracted the bees that are buzzing my deck I have trapped at least a dozen bees in a couple of weeks. Once trapped it takes several days for the bees to die. The bees that get trapped attract more bees so don’t empty the trap till full. I haven’t found any insecticide that prevents these pests from buzzing the deck area and insecticide is only effective killing the bees if you catch them in the holes they drilled in your wood.

Be Patient - It works!
I put 2 traps up on each of my 2 decks last summer. Got only 2 bees in 9 months, and not sure they were carpenter bees. Then I just walked outside this morning and 3 of the traps have 5 bees in them each! WOW! I'm so shocked, I just checked them last week and there was nothing. Imagine how much damage these 15 bees could have done if I didn't have the traps up. I would post a photo but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it. Thank you!!!

Very Surprised at Effectiveness
I had given up on swatting carpenter bees with my electrified tennis racket device (although that can be satisfying) and decided to give these a try. I was skeptical because the bees seem to be just buzzing around and not yet looking for a hole to go in to or drill during late March early April. The drilling (at least in my area which is NE Georgia) starts later in the spring/summer. So I was really surprised when I put 4 of these up about 3 weeks ago, which would have been mid March, and immediately trapped a couple of carpenter bees. Now I have probably 15-20 total bees trapped among the 4 traps and there are only a few left still flying around. Today is April 7 and I would typically have 10 or more buzzing around and I only see two or three around my deck and house. Very pleased with these traps and I might buy a couple more for the remainder of the sunny side of my house. I put mine between 6 and 10 feet off the ground at different locations around the eaves and deck on the sunny side of the house and so far, very effective. Highly recommend these traps if you're tired of swatting them.

July in Virginia
I'm starting w/2 traps to see if they work. We built a custom 2nd home in the Mountains of VA - it is covered w/painted hardiplank siding, porch & stairs are Trex, trim & railings are vinyl.......and yes we are having a problem w/Carpenter bee's! problem is we are only out there on the occasional weekend & we can't see actual holes because they are squeezing in under the vinyl. It took me a yr to convince my husband they were not bumblebees. Went out there a week ago and found a dead carpenter bee on the front steps - put it in my trap. Not sure if we've missed the season but will leave them up til winter. Can't say if they work but I have high hopes & they look cute!

Wish I bought this years ago!
I've had carpenter bees boring themselves into the kids swing set/fort for a few years. I'd plug the holes with wood putty and spray with hornet spray to no avail. I used an old tennis racquet to get most of them, but they'd come back. Kids would use the swing less. I saw this tarp and was skeptical that something so small and simple would work, but I am happy to report that it is liked the pied piper for carpenter bees. I hung it from the roof of the fort and waited about 2 weeks. There were already 5-6 bees in there. I've already emptied it twice this season, each time with 15-20 bees in it. Best $25 I've ever spent on pest control. The kicker is that it looks great - solid wood construction.

I would highly recommend this product. It did exactly what it said it would do.
We had a severe carpenter bee issue. We couldn't even be in the area where their nests were,(back deck and outdoor shower). I bought two of the traps and within a week the one trap had about 20 bees in it. The second one we have moved a few times without any luck, but it seems that the bees have left our yard possibly due to all the dead ones from the other trap.

It took a couple of days but once we got the 1st bee the others came. We purchased 3 traps which we placed on different sides of the deck. One side had a lot more activity than the others, they seem to like the sunny side best. We caught 12 bees in one trap and 2 in each of the others. We haven't seen a new bee in days. Love these traps!

I am delighted witih your product!
When I found your product on line, it seemed like a good idea--but also gave it only a 50/50 chance of working, considering how simple the idea was--thinking I certainly would have heard about this before had your claims been true......
And I have been so surprised how well it has worked for me--that we've been singing its praises to everyone! The first day we had TEN big carpenter bees in the first plastic container. I think we happened to put it in the perfect spot--near their active wood holes that had wood shavings beneath the holes. The second container was placed in a less active area, and no bees were collected in it until we moved it to a more active site.
When we left our home last week, there was still one active bee that seemed to "catch on" what was happening, but we hopefully left our home with containers left to continue to entice him home to his deceased comrades. This is a great way to rid yourselves of carpenter bees. No toxic complications for other animals or birds. I am delighted witih your product! C.D.

The Carpenter Bee that couldn't
We had carpenter bee's attacking a near by garage drilling a clean 3/8 inch holes around the roof line. So we decided to take action. I ordered two of these traps, hung one by the garage and one by the house, the garage is only 20' away from the house. The bee's were starting to eye up the house. Note it was raining for day's when I received the order so the bee's were not in sight. No action at the traps. But once the sun came out it only took a few day's and I trapped 4 bee's at the house trap. Nice... I believe the message went out and they left the site.
This is a great trap. It worked great for me.. Thank You.

Bee trap
I was a little hesitant at first, but to my surprise the traps really do work. I still see some hanging around my shed but they are not leaving their mess behind so hopefully they got the hint!

Very good product. Well worth the money.
I’m very satisfied with this product. I bought three of them and will most likely buy two more next spring when the bees become a problem again.
One of them caught enough bees to fill half the cylinder. Emptied it and it filled a quarter of it. Emptied it and there’s one more bee in it right now. Another one filled about a third of the cylinder. Emptied it and two more are in it right now. The third one caught none in two different locations. I’m leaving it at the present location and will see what happens.
Most of the bees seem to be gone for the season now. Either that or I’ve trapped them all. I’m curious to see what happens next Spring since I’ll have them installed earlier.
I’m very satisfied so far.

Very impressed with these traps.
I was skeptical at first but thought I had nothing to lose so I purchased two of the traps. Within the first two days I had caught my first bee and it's been a steady stream after that.

Love it!
This trap works really well. I was able to completely get rid of carpenter bees within a week. I had noticed several holes underneath my deck when the weather got warmer this spring. I also noticed bees going in and out of them. They are really quick in drilling the holes and if you stand there and watch for a little while you will see sawdust coming out of their holes. They also hovered over my deck and made it impossible to sit out and enjoy the warm, nice weather. I hung up the trap from the deck and filled in all the holes with putty. If there was a bee inside the hole they would push the putty out but if no bees happened to be in the hole they weren't able to go back in. For those holes that had bees in them, I soaked cotton balls with alcohol and stuffed it into the hole. In the meantime, the bees started using the trap as their "home". It captured about 15 bees and I haven't seen one for days now.

I really wasn’t sure if this was going to work. We hung it up by the eaves of the shed and within three days we had four bees! Very, very happy with this product! Will be ordering more!

Works great.
This works very well. We have about 6 or 7 dead bees in it now. I can't figure out how they can't get out, but somehow they are struck once they get in.

Works great!
Nice quality trap. We seeded the trap with one dead carpenter bee. No activity the first week, but since then the trap has been collecting at least 1 bee per day. We remove all but 1 bee when the trap has 5 or so bees.

Excellent product - it works
I have owned this product for about 1 1/2 weeks. Within two days of hanging it up, there were 2 bees in the trap. By the end of the week there were at least 6. I would recommend this product.

Works amazingly well
I bought this last summer when I noticed carpenter bees burrowing into my deck. It took a while before I captured the 1st one, but once I caught one, I caught several more, and it ended the problem for the summer. With the new year starting, I saw one or two hanging around the deck again, so I thought it was time to put this back out. In just over a week, I'd caught a dozen! After dumping these, another week has the bottle full again. Very effective and easy to use!

These traps REALLY work!
After years of having my house eaten by bees, I was getting frustrated. Nothing I did worked, and even professionals shrugged their shoulders and said the bees would keep coming back every year. I bought one of these traps a few years ago and I was ecstatic when the bees just started dropping in. The trap worked well, but it had a few problems with the design - the container would fill with water over time, and I had to get a ladder to empty out water and bees. So it limited the places I was willing to place the traps, and thus limited its effectiveness. They fixed both problems with this new design! I now have two more of these high up on my roof line and all I have to do is pull a string to drop out a pile of bees. Woo Hoo! I love this product!

Works great!
The traps had bees in them within hours of putting them up so they definitely work. After two weeks, I'm only seeing the random bee flying around and then a little later notice new activity in the trap. I'll be ordering more for the garden shed. Thank you!

When I pulled this out of the box I had my doubts, but this little hanging hut works! We've caught numerous carpenter bees. The eaves are no longer buzzing!

Carpenter bee trap
Product works well but took a few days before trapping the bees. Once one bee gets trapped it seems to attract the other bees

Excellent product
I have a cedar sided home and cedar deck and a pole barn all of which the carpenter bees were really working on. I bought 4 of these traps, I put one under the deck, one behind the house and two at the barn. I put the ones at the barn up first and by the time I had all four up one was caught at the barn. Within one week every one had bees in them and now the one behind the house has about 7-10 in it, the one under the deck has 10-15 in it and both at the barn have 20 or more in them. I've had professional pest control companies spray for them with limited success. I've not seen ANY bees after having them up for two weeks. I'm MORE than satisfied. Don Hillsman, Missouri.

These work, but not so well that the traps alone will do what i had hoped.
I put up 4 of these about 3 weeks ago. Two of them caught 5 or 6 bees each, the other two have only one each. The slower traps are probably not in optimum locations. I still have bees attacking the house, and it does not appear the traps alone are going to do the trick, so i will be getting the spray.

Carpenter Bees been puting holes in my large cedar deck for many yrs and saw one or 2 at most when close to that area. I hung trap upon receipt 3 mos ago. Caught 1 bee first day & 2nd on 3rd day after putting small sticks in many holes & left them in trap. The remains of the 2 have turned into gook. I have not seen any more bees since but wife says she saw one a few days ago. I'm not sure if only 2 existed? Anyone have this experience?

Previously Reviewed, just another remark.
The trap didn't work for us as I stated earlier. I didn't mention that the quality is sturdy. For the materials used, the price of $24.50 is too much, in my opinion. I feel $15.00 might be more in line.

We are under control!
Put traps up about 2 weeks ago...but no notches on the gun. Let me explain. A few days after hanging them my yard help was here. He guessed what they were for and realized that he had forgotten to tell me that a week before I hung them he had pumped your DeltaDust insecticide into all the open holes. The dust evidently did it's job. Will leave the traps up though just to see if they catch any newcomers.

Great Product
I bought 2. One for front and one for back of house. Caught 1st one in 2 hours! Probably have 30 dead now. Neighbor borrowed and got same results. Ordering 2 today for people who heard me say how great they are. Now, here is (hopefully) a good tip. I just read that if you have wasps, put a little sweet soda in bottle along with 5 drops of dish washing liquid. Says takes care of wasps. I am going to try this as I have wasps!

These traps work perfectly. Sure it's a bit icky that the bees slowly die inside but the pheromones they release attract many more bees to the trap. A great way to limit the amount of pesticides you have to apply to keep the bees in check.

Works very well, better than i thought it would.
This trap is great. I didn't think it would work this well. It surpassed what I thought it would do. I found out if I sprayed the areas where they had been around and then put up the trap close by they picked entering the trap.

Carpenter Bee Trap
We had to wait a few days for them to notice the traps, but now they are all filling up with the bees. So happy that we did not have to use poison or other unnatural means - highly recommend this product.

Not a gimmick- It works!
I had little faith this trap would work, but our bee problem has been so bad this year, I thought the ~$25 was worth the risk. I hung it as directed up near the gable where they're active. Within 3 days there 5 bodies in the jar, and a live one trying to escape. It's a convenient 24/7 control method.

Carpenter Beesness
I took the time to write this review because I am so impressed with these traps. I basically had a whole squadron of carpenter bees hovering around my front porch. I started to spend $200. on a pest control service but several people told me I'd be wasting my money. I found this business on the internet, read the good reviews and thought I'd take a chance and ordered two traps. It wasn't long before bees were checking in but not checking out. This trap went a long way toward eliminating my problem. I used a tennis racket on the rest of them. The are gone. This is a great product which I highly recommend to those with carpenter bee issues.

Love it!!!
Love the little trap. The first bee was trapped within 24 hours and now, three weeks later, the container is almost full. The carpenter bee population has dropped so quickly that I am hard pressed to find any around the whole house. I'll be back next spring to get another house or two to place on other sides of our house.

A happy coustomer
I just loved the carpenter bee traps. They were easy to assemble and install there have been around 30 bees caught in the traps so far after being up for only 3 weeks! These are great chemical free products and the price was very reasonable. My landlord also purchased your dust for the holes and the plugs. The pesticide appears to have killed all of the bees in the holes. I believe the conjunction of both products made our effort a total win! Thank you so much! and I would be happy to post a positive review!
