Application For best practice in drenching the soils around trees and shrubs, drench before insect damage occurs as a prevention practice. Use one soil treatment per year. Best time to apply is early spring to early fall. This product can be applied anytime except when the ground is saturated or frozen. These conditions will make movement of the product down into the root zone difficult. When applying this product during dry periods, generously water the tree or shrub the night before treatment.
Retreatment No
Shipping Restrictions Long Island, N.Y
More Instructions NOTE: For insect control, the insecticide must move throughout the tree or shrub. The time it takes to do this will depend on the size of the plant that is treated (one week to three months for very large trees). For this reason, soil drenches should occur 2-3 months before the expected pest infestation. Trees that are already heavily infested may not survive due to the existing pest damage and the resulting stress.

Adelgids Killing Hemlock Trees
Our home is surrounded with lovely Hemlock trees, and we have been slowly watching them die off. This is our 3rd year of treating the trees, closet to our home, with Bonide Annual Tree & Shrub Insect Control, and we have finally noticed improvement and a large decrease in the white larvae that is found on the underside of the needles.

I wish we could afford to treat the surround forest, but alas, this has already been an expensive undertaking, especially since my husband and I are retired.

It takes time, but the Bonide does work.

Will purchase again
It is difficult to tell if this product is "working" since it takes such a long time for the time release of a systemic to work its way through large trees. However, I am quite confident in the Bonide product line and will be applying a second treatment of this product to my trees again in spring. I've rated the product so highly partially based upon my previous success with their other offerings, and because of the prompt service I received from DIY Pest Control. The company was out of gallons when I placed my order, but they quickly drop shipped quart sizes to me for no additional charge. This service and turn around helped me to get the product applied before the end of the season arrived. I would recommend this product and supplier to others.
