Apply Bonide Rot-Stop Ready-to-Use undiluted. Apply to the point of run-off onto the foliage and fruit during periods of rapid growth or following excessive rain. Apply in early morning or evening when temperatures are lower to avoid foliage burn. Make applications 5-7 days apart when conditions are favorable for appearance of the disorder.
Bonide's Rot-Stop helps stop blossom end rot on tomatoes. Blossom end rot is caused by a calcium shortage. This deficiency of calcium may be caused by fertilizers with too much nitrogen or a general lack of calcium in the soil. You can identify end rot on a tomato by looking for a round brown area on the end of the tomato fruit, opposite of the stem. As the tomato ripens, the rot area turns dry.
It is common to see tomato blossom end rot when there is rapid growth followed by dry conditons, or if calcium has been depleted out of the soil due to heavy rain.
When to apply Rot-Stop
It is best to apply rot-stop to developing fruits and foliage after periods of heavy rain or rapid growth.
