Drive XLR8 Herbicide (64 oz) - Crabgrass Killer

Drive XLR8 Herbicide surpasses plain quinclorac as a crabgrass killer, even in the mature stages of the crabgrass. It has shown to have improved control over many troublesome weeds such as crabgrass, topedograss, kikuyugrass, and several broadleaves including clover.

We also carry Quali Pro's Quinclorac 1.5 L ,Quinclorac - 18.92 % at a lower price.

The proprietary, water-based formulation works faster than Drive 75 DF with a faster uptake in the plant and rain fast within an hour. It is absorbed by roots, shoots and foliage, and translocated throughout the plant.

Application of Drive XLR8 is made for actively growing weeds as post-emergent broadcast or spot sprays per lable instructions.

More Info

Drive Herbicide- Quinclorac - 18.92 %

If you wanted to buy a smaller amount of Quinclorac - 18.92 %, Quin Kill Max, offers a pint size and quart size.

Mode Of Action

In broadleaf plants, it is auxin-like; in grasses it affects cellulose biosynthesis.

Control Symptoms

The control symptoms exhibited by broadleaf weeds include leaf and stem curl or twisting, and chlorosis. Susceptible grasses demonstrate stunting, chlorosis and gradual reddening, followed by necrosis and death.

Application Tips

  • Mix Drive XLR8 herbicide with water and a non-ionic surfactant such as Alligare Surface for more effective application.
  • Spray coverage should be uniform and complete.
  • It is recommended to not mow two days before or after application.
  • Irrigation may improve weed control, if soil moisture is not sufficient.
  • Drive XLR8 may be tank-mixed with other pre- and postemergent grass herbicides, along with postemergent broadleaf herbicides.

Works like a charm
I bought a bottle of this stuff a year ago. I've gone through about half of it. When I use it I mix it in a fine mist sprayer with 2-4D, a surfactant and blue dye. I treat my lawn about 3 or 4 times a season beginning in late June. I live on Cape Cod. I put a pre-emergent crabgrass killer down in May. I use either Dimension or Tupersan as a crabgrass preventer. I use Dimension if I'm not overseeding and I use Tupersan if I am seeding. I like Dimension better but the circumstances dictate which one I will use. Hope this helps. I have the best lawn in the neighborhood by far. Also, I have less and less crabgrass every year.

Awesome product. 3 Heaping Table Spoons to a One Gallon Round up Sprayer. Buy the Oil Suggested to make this stick to the Weed. Add one Table spoon Oil. Set the nozzle to spray a fine Mist. Spray 1
to 2 feet above the Weed. Knocks out Crab Grass & Clover.

Great product.... It works well!!
Applied in So. Calif. on crabgrass in short fescue lawn. It took about 2 weeks before the crabgrass began turn brown. Another two weeks and completely gone! Very impressed -- great product! Be sure to apply as directed.

Worked great!
I live in Michigan and spot sprayed during the first week of August. This stuff killed the crabgrass in a few days time. I did a follow up spot spray the following week to kill any new plants that appeared. A pre-emergent was not an option for me this year as I plan on seeding next month.

Drive did the job on crabgrass in lawn. Japanese clover also looking
poorly but may need another dose. Lawn grasses not affected by Drive. Very satisfied.
