Cluster Flies: How to kill and get rid of Cluster Flies
Recommended for Cluster Flies
Prevention of Cluster Flies: Use a long-lasting residual insecticide such as LambdaStar UltraCap, Cyper WSP, or Bifen IT during the fall months. Fall time is when cluster flies start to seek shelter and "overwinter" in your home. LambdaStar UltraCap will remain on the surface than Bifen IT. Cyper WSP will leave a visible film that can be seen on dark surfaces.
- Spray the exterior walls where these Cluster Flies are likely to land, predominately on the south and western sides of the house. Spray around the door frames, window frames, eaves and soffits as well.
- Spray the perimeter or surrounding soil with LambdaStar UltraCap, Cyper WSP, or Bifen IT during the spring and summer months to help minimize any Cluster Fly populations and subsequent entries.
Active Cluster Fly Infestations: Once the Cluster Flies have entered your home for overwintering, not much can be done to solve the problem. Vacuum the flies that are causing a nuisance. You can also try an aerosol that kills on contact wit pyrethrum, such as CB-80 or PT565
