Trapper T Rex Rat Traps

Walt Cline - Pest Control Professional Pro Tip: "These traps can be used in some odd ball places. Roof rats like to run along pipes. Strap two traps in facing opposite directions. Put a little Provoke Rat Attractant on it and see what happens. On hard services you might try using some Hercules Putty to secure the trap and keep a rodent from dragging it away."

Worth the Money
I purchased 2 traps upon recommendation from my neighbor who had a severe chipmunk problem. They trapped 24 chipmunks in a short period of time. I was able to trap 2 and it seems the rest have left the area because there are no new indications of their presence. The traps are well constructed and easy to use. Very effective.

Works Great
I am back to purchase more of these, that says a lot. Don't forget to also order the bait: Provoke Rat Attractant. They love that bait!

Snap, snap
My husband informed me of at least 2 rats in our barn area - the cat, dogs and chickens had not chased out.
We used these - husband likes the design - within a few hours *snap, snap* 1 down. A few hours later, *snap, snap* 2 down. Reset 2 more times for a total of 4 rats. No more infestation. Super simple. Love it.

2 hours later and down
Have a difficult rat in an RV...one rat. Making a huge mess under the cabinet out of sight...huge pile of droppings. No sign in living space. Nest under heater...full garbage can of branches and lost items of hardware and such in paper bags. tried traditional snap traps and it was stealing and springing. Got the putty and provoke bait, and T rex traps...2 hours later, he was dead..I got it on a deer cam video too...I have been back to view cameras and traps after 5 hours and no sign of rats...we shall see, but buying one box, tube of provoke, putty, and 4 traps makes me know I am prepared for invasion. Way less than the initial visit by a "pro". I am the pro...

Oh my god. You must get these!
We've been using the wood and spring traps for years, with peanut butter. I called DYOP and explained to Emmett that we needed help with rats living in and destroying a couch after they raided a huge bag of pistachio nuts. Peanut butter in the wood/spring traps did not work. Emmett suggested these T Rex traps, and he explained how to set them over time to make the rats feel safe around them until we loaded them. Boom! Got three fat rats three nights in a row. Success!

What I like about these traps is that I can set and unset them myself, safely. I don't touch the wood/springs traps, my hands aren't as strong as my husbands and I am afraid to get hurt. These traps can be set by stepping on them, and easily released by just tapping on the plate with a pencil. We are sold! Thanks DYOP!

Killed 5 roof rats
Killed 5 roof rats in less than 24 hours. Super easy to use.

Good but don't always kill or kill quickly
I like these traps because I can set them with a heel rather than my arthritic fingers, and because they are easily reusable. I put peanut butter deep in the cup.

I wish however Bell would let us know how quickly and surely they kill, how long they are effective, and how to tell when it's time to throw one out.

Often I find a dead rat in one, but sometimes I'm woken up by repetitive sound of a rat trying to move while caught. I prefer a quick, humane kill. Last time I tried to drop the box with trapped roof rat in a bucket of water and found empty trap in the morning.

Traps Walk Off!
I've bought these traps a few times. They always end up "walking off." This time I bought 2, and within a couple of weeks they disappeared. They are put in places that only a rat would find them, so I assume rats are getting a leg caught and dragging the traps back to their home.

The next time I buy them, I think I will attach them to something with fishing line so they won't disappear!

Twenty-one rats in one night
Twenty-one rats in one night. Wow!
I followed your suggestions. I bought 12 T-Rexs and 12 Protecta Evo Ambush Bait Stations. I placed the 12 stations and “fed” the rats for 5 days. (Gosh, did they feast.) On the 6th “feeding” day I placed a T-Rex in each station, but I locked it in the set position using a small piece of wood.
Last evening I set each T-Rex and then monitored the traps.
BAM! 10 rats in 9 traps. Discarded the rats & reset the traps. BAM! 7 more rats. Checked again, another rat.
Went to bed, but woke up hearing a “struggle”. Two more rats.
Was returning to bed when I heard a snap. Checked and caught another rat.
These Protecta stations are fantastic. I can place them in the area with my chickens without them being hurt.
I think the secret is what you said: large number of traps and feeding the rats for days to train them them where to feed.

Needs to be able to tie down trap
This trap is very well made except for one thing, the first time I set it out I got a big rat but noticed the rat still was able to run several feet with it even though his head was in it. The second time I set it out, went to check to see if there was anything in it and the trap was gone. The only thing I can think is that maybe it caught another rat and this time the rat managed to drag it off. Wish the makers of the trap would put something on the trap so you could tie it down some how. I paid $14.99 plus tax for this at our co op, wish I had found this site first, I could have got 2 for what I paid, but I will have to say it's a good trap
