Very effective
After screwing up last year using a different product to destroy dandelions (which nuked the entire lawn), I wised up and asked around of guys who had spectacular lawns with no dandelions. Trimec was the answer. I got a gallon and did the smart thing - studied the instructions, watched the Do It Yourseld Pest Control videos, and most importantly, followed the special advice on how to determine the quantity of flow from my sprayer. No guessing. After that, using the correct amount of Trimec, spraying properly, the dandelions just died. Grass was fine, Only dandelions gave up the ghost. It works as advertised. Apply it properly and all is good.

Great weed remover
Works Great. Takes a week or two to completely kill weeds. A second application can be done if you see weeds you may have missed or you can spot kill them too.

The problem is how to
Sprays seem tough to apply, but they are relatively easy to apply with three things:

1. An Ortho Dial-A-Spay aprayer

2. A mixing calculator ("Mixing Ratio and Concentration Calculator" found on the web)

3. A P3 GPM meter for a garden hose.

Once you figure out the sqft and the amount to apply for your desired area, you can get the premix % from the calculator.

Pick a number that's reasonable like 6 to 10 gal per 1000 sqft. With the % and the total amount added, you can find the dilution.

The gallon meter makes it easy to keep tabs on things and you can pace yourself. If you did it right, you will run out of solution in the Dial-A-Spray at the amount (gals) that you mixed for.

6 to 10 gallons per 1000 sqft seems to be a good number.

This season is the first time using Trimec. I've used the pre-emergent Dimension with good results.

This season is the first application of Trimec. It's probably been down about 4 weeks. The Dandilions have wilted, but there are still a few. The neighbors provide many sources of Dandilion and even Wild Violet.

It may be working on the Wild Violet. Parts of the leaves have turned yellow.
