Talpirid Mole Bait

Walt Cline - Pest Control Professional Pro Tip: "Talpirid Mole Bait is a great mole killer if you put it in the right place (where the moles are traveling).

Another alternative is to repel them. Check out Molemax. When using Molemax, we recommend using gloves. Not using gloves may contaminate the bait with a human scent

This product works great.
Have used these worms on several occasions. It does stop them dead. My problem is the cost. Guess the manufacture has a built in
liability cast?

Mole abatement
Last year was the last straw, as my beautifully manicured yard , which attracted many earthworms, became a motocross track for many families of moles and their close neighbors, the voles.

Had tried everything from smoking, flooding, salting, poisoning, chewing gumming, rock salting, tabasco-ing, trapping, them out. Hired a few dogs and cats, with a mere modicum of success.
Still the yard suffered as did the flower gardens.

The rat traps /peanut butter/covered with flower pots, set next to the holes worked for a brief spell, but the track kept expanding.

Lamenting my malaise to an owner of a landscape company, she recommended the Talpirid Mole Bait. After placing in the active surrounds, realized AMAZING (immediate) results. The motocross track is closed. Thanks for a great product.

Seems to be working
I live South of Ft. Smith, Ar., and we have plenty of moles here. I have tried traps of different kinds with not much luck. I tried the Talpirid Mole Bait which is fast and easy to apply. I have not seen any new hills, and after a few days, I flattened out the hills where I put the bait and they are not re-using them. So far, this looks like the answer to my mole problem.

Great Stuff
I have used this product for years and found that it is the easy way to get rid of moles. Other methods are dangerous (shooting them) and not effective such as traps.

Seems to be the best choice...
Last summer I used a few boxes of the The Giant Destroyer super gassers. These worked better than anything I had been using over the past years...everything seemed to work for awhile but the moles always come back...and the Super Gassers held them off better than the rest...Then Fall comes. I switch to Talpirid Mole Bait - Worms. Much easier. Just drop half a worm in a couple of main holes of each burrow and that's it. I'm on my third 20-pack and now when they come back they go away real quick. I call that a good sign. Right now, I'm putting my money on Talpirid Mole Worm Baits. They are easier to use and they seem to be doing a better job than anything else I have tried.

good product
I used to use traps, but my sprinkling system guy, who works for a neighboring city and golf course installing systems, said they use Talpirid and got me to use this product. I also cut the worms in half, as others do, and that seems to be sufficient. I have had pretty good luck and have no activity for a while after baiting ....though it is a never ending battle, as new moles move into the same tunnels...and the cycle starts all over again.
The price on this site is much better than in local stores and the service/shipment was excellent and fast. So I am ordering again....

Second time buyer because of good results
I purchased this product two years ago and used it at my home in southern Ohio and also in Michigan and had very good results. Late this past fall the moles returned at my Ohio home and went wild just before the deep freeze. So I stocked in January to prepare for the first thaw to go on the attack!

Still struggling with moles
In the past two years I have used five packages of Talprid, 100 worms, as directed, and I still have moles throughout most of my lawn. I tamp down the grass, wait until I see it lifted again, insert a worm, the next day or two the grass is lifted again. There is a golf course bordering my property that sprays for moles and they seem to keep coming from there. Nothing seems to work here in Hilton Head, SC where it seldom freezes moles into hibernation.

DIY Response: Sorry to hear you're having problems eliminating the moles. I suspect the neighboring golf course is furnishing you with a steady stream of new moles. You may have a tougher time eliminating them than the average home owner because of the surrounding environment. You are probably killing some moles, but others are quickly replacing them. In addition, the sandy soils found in the coastal Carolinas can cause the mole tunnels to collapse after baiting them. Tunnel collapse will cover the bait with sand and makes the bait less attractive to the moles. You may want to supplement the Talpirid Bait with some mole traps ( http://store.doyourownpestcontrol.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=mole+traps ) which are quite effective in sandy and loamy soils.
