Optigard Ant Bait Gel is a powerful, slow acting non-repellent. The active ingredient, thiamethoxam, knocks out workers, brood, and queens. Optigard is for indoor and outdoor control of structure-invading ants; excluding fire, harvester, and Pharaoh ants. Optigard Ant Bait Gel doesn't have the unsightly yellowish-brown color or the runny inconsistency of other baits.

This works! This worked great...after trying boric acid and honey and different sprays from hardward store for 6 weeks, Optiguard finally fixed the ant problem in our kitchen! They love the gel and then we find them dead by the hundreds and assume that some of them made it back to the colony and also killed off the queen. It may take several days and they may pop up in new places, but this stuff does work for small sugar ants.

AwesomeThis was recommended to me by a local exterminator that was too busy to do a service call in a timely manner. He said it’s the same stuff he uses and it worked great! Had a small problem at my own house and ants were eliminated within a few days. Used it at another property that was on a slab with multiple residents and it reduced any population but didn’t eliminate them. This situation probably need a different strategy or something stronger.

Very positive and 5 starsThis ant bait gel is fantastic. Just one small application in 3 places, and in just 2 days there are no ant sightings. WOW!

Outstanding productWe used as directed and the ants were gone in less than two days. We had previously tried several other insecticides and methods to kill the ants, but nothing totally got rid of them until we used this product. Highly recommend it. The only problem was we only used a very small amount of the product and we still have about 90% of it left. Small price to pay for the results. Do yourself a favor and use it.

Inconsistent fluidity - apparetlny effectiveIt seems to work after several daily applications. I have not seen the little black ants for the last two days after 4 daily applications (on thin lines of the product as per tip on the website).
Despite the South Florida weather the product dries rather quickly after indoor application which seems to make it less effective. It was often difficult to get it out of the syringe because not all the content has the same fluidity, as if some of the content is more solid than the rest of it.Posted on

excellent resultsBest ant control I've used. It may take a few days for ants to completely disappear, but after that, they are gone!

Colony Killer productI own a local PC biz, and have found that using Taurus SC around house exterior perimeter, and Optigard on top gets the ants to walk straight into ANT HEAVEN. Yes, they are attracted to Optigard IMMEDIATELY and when they walk across the Taurus, they are DEAD ALREADY... [just don't know it yet...] Excellent product.. I don't see a reason to use anything else outside for ANTS.
Inside I use OPTIGARD on top of a LIGHT spray of PHANTOM aerosol. Do this only if you can't find the ants outside, because the ants WILL COME LIKE CRAZY. [they LOVE Optigard]

Took a while, but it workedIt took two weeks, and two applications, but it stopped the critters! We found a couple of stray "orphans" afterward, but we've seen nothing in the past month. Great product!

It worksI have had an ongoing problem with winged ants (no, they're not termites) that persisted despite all efforts using "branded" ant traps. It was a difficult problem because the ants would suddenly disappear as quickly as they had appeared making me think that the problem was solved. It now seems that the problem is solved for good. Although I was initially disappointed at the seeming lack of attraction of the ants, I did see them at the edge of the gel and ultimately, Gonezo!
It is expensive and it seems given the effectiveness, the package size and expense could be reduced. I needed only one-third of one syringe to fix the problem.Posted on
