Protecta LP Bait Station
- Product Review (submitted on November 24, 2016):
I bought six of these 2-1/2 years ago.
I live in a heavily wooded area and can't seem to seal the rats out of my house. Once, I trapped five in my attic in one week.
So far, in 2016 I have only trapped a few.
So I think these rat bait stations do work.
I am now halfway through my third pail of Contrac blocks in 2-1/2 years. During dry times it is not unusual to have all six stations completely cleaned out of bait in less than two weeks.
Only problem: Water, and resultant slugs coming for the bait and contaminating the bait station.
Sometimes the bait chamber in the station will be literally filled with water an inch deep, and SLUGS! (Slugs tinted blue from eating the Contrac.)
During rainy periods I check the stations and change out the bait every 2 weeks or less.
I sprinkle slug bait around and under the station during wet season.
I live in the Seattle, WA area.
