Fastrac Blox

Walt Cline - Pest Control Professional Pro Tip: "

Fastrac Blox is an excellent choice for mice, with good acceptance of the bait . Fastrac is also labeled for rats, but we are not seeing the same acceptance as we do with mice.
Another bait, "Take Down Soft Bait" , has the same active ingredient at Fastrac, but seems more appealing to the Norway and Roof rats. Another bait that is highly appealing to rats is Contrac Blox (different active ingredient). Make sure you always use tamper resistant rodent stations.

Fastrac Blox

Fastrac Blox is a single feed, weather resistant and fast-acting acute rodent bait, containing Bromethalin. Fastrac Blox is used for controlling rodent populations in a quick and effective manner. Fastrac is a small, rough, all-weather baiting blox with many gnawing edges. Secondary poisoning ( e.g., a dog consuming the carcasses of rodents poisoned by Fastrac) does not readily occur with bromethalin.

There is no antidote with bromethalin; the mode of death is a neurotoxin. Keep all children, pets and non targeted animals away from Fastrac. The use of tamper-resistant bait stations is recommended.

Packaging: (4 lb) blocks with center hole

Rodent Baiting Tips

  • Rodents will eat this bait heavily the first day or two after the treatment begins.
  • Due to the stop-feed qualities of Fastrac, the placement quantities should be smaller than other single feeding baits.
  • Inspect the bait placement sites. Replenish with Fastrac Blox when there are signs of a lot of feeding or continued signs of rodent activity.
  • Due to its active ingredient, Bromethalin, consumption of this bait is less than other anticoagulant baits.
  • Even though Fastrac is an acute bait, providing a lethal dose, continue to bait to make sure the whole rodent population has a chance to feed on the bait. Continue to bait with Fastrac until the feeding has ceased.

Follow Up

Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Using gloves, collect and properly dispose of all dead, exposed animals and leftover bait. Good rodent control practices need to be maintained. These include reducing any harborage areas, as well as limiting sources of rodent food and water as much as possible. If there is a permanent source of rodent activity, use permanent tamper-resistant bait stations filled with Fastrac.

When does Death occur with Fastrac ?

Norway rats, Roof rats and House mice usually consume a lethal dose in a single night's feeding, but it may take two or more days from the time of bait consumption for these rodents to die.

How long is the shelf life?

If kept away from extreme temperatures(especially high heat), unopened and sealed, Fastrac Blox should last about 2 years. If opened, it should last about a year.

Norway Rats, Roof Rats and House Mice

Active Ingredient (s) Bromethalin 0.01%
For Use :

Bait with Fastrac Blox along their runways. Generally, these areas are along walls, by gnawed openings, in or beside burrows, in corners and concealed places, between floors and walls, or in locations where rodents or their signs have been seen. Protect bait from rain and snow. Remove as much alternative food as possible.

Fastrac Blox can only be used to control rodents such as rats and mice and within 100 feet of man-made structures. Fence and perimeter baiting beyond 100 feet from a structure is prohibited. Burrow baiting is prohibited.

Yield Each 4 lb. pail contains approx. 128 (15 gram) blocks measuring 1.75" X .75" each.
Mixture|Application Bait along their runways. All bait placements must be inside or within 50 feet of buildings.
Application

Rats: Place 2 to 12 blocks per placement (usually at intervals of 15 to 30 feet). Adjust the amount of bait applied to the level of rat feeding expected at each bait placement. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of rat activity cease. See product label for more instructions.

Mice: Use 1 bait block per placement. Space placements at intervals of 8 to 12 feet in infested areas. Larger placements, up to 2 blocks, may be needed at points of extremely high mouse activity.

Pet and Children Usage:

Do not expose children, pets, or nontarget animals to rodenticides. To help prevent exposure:
1. Store unused product out of reach of children and pets.
2. Do not apply Fastrac Blox in areas where children, pets, domestic animals and nontarget wildlife are accessible or use tamper-resistant bait stations. Use bait stations that can be resistant to destruction by dogs or children. These stations must be used in a manner that prevents children from reaching into bait compartment. Strong bait stations are needed in areas where potentially destructive animals, such as raccoons, hoofed livestock, or other destructive animals are present.
3. The Fastrac Blox label requires proper disposal of contaminated, spoiled or unused bait.

meh...
I am in California and had used Contrac Blox with great success in the past. I had Fastrac Blox in the stations for over a week and rodent interest was nil. I applied a little peanut butter to the blox and now have a little interest. I will try a previous reviewer's idea of pan drippings next time.

RATS, no rats!
I am so disappointed! I've used the box store rat " electric " chair and had satisfaction with 8" tails in the trap in the morning. I've used glue traps and got 7 of the wiggling little ba***rds that I had to drown in a bucket to end their miserable little lives. They build nests under the hood of my hot rods, ate though the wall behind the refridgerator, and gave me the finger as they ran past my dogs. I am pretty sure, one rat committed suicide eating a cellulous sponge when I put up the food, but still you could hear my " little friends" in the walls! I got a bucket of FASTRAC BAIT and I set out 6 pieces and but a 1/2 clothes hanger through 3 behind the fridge and 3 behind a cabinet. Got a few gnaws on it. I moved it to tha garage after they rats escaped the glue traps. Now........ silence!
After living with these evil doers ruining food, furniture, appliances, autos, silence, no bodies, no farewell, no goodbye, nada!
I'm so disappointed! No bodies. No closure........ yeah right!!!!!!!!!! Tell your rat friends with your dying breath, STAY AWAY

Forget the over the counter stuff. Fastrac Blox work!
Purchased to get rid of rats living under my deck. Placed wire through hole in block, put dole rod through hole in block, wrapped block wire around rod to secure blockrod, then stuck rods under deck in 5 different locations around the rat burrow holes. On third day we could tell rats had been nibbling on blocks. By fifth day all 5 blocks were gone. Never saw any dead rats (or other animals) in yard or under deck. Repeated procedure one more time and blocks were gone in two days. Don't know where rats died and haven't seen evidence of live ones since i raked dirt over their holes two weeks ago.

Great product, Great customer service
This product far exceeded my expectations with our rat infestation. Very effective... after about 2 weeks and about 3/4 of the bucket we are seeing no rat activity. We have both it and Contac placed, our rats definitely prefer the Fastrac. And, it was so reassuring not to have to worry about our dogs getting any of the dead rats. On top of that, the customer service of this company was awesome. I had an issue with my order but it was taken care of quickly and professionally. I plan to use them for all my future pest control needs.

Surpassed my expectations. Wish I knew about this years ago!
For years we've had a severe rat infestation problem in our yard and we suspect there was a nest somewhere. But we couldn't trust the usual poisons because of our concern of our dogs becoming poisoned if they got a hold of dead vermin.

I found our about Fastrac Bloc and decided to buy it. I figured it would not be as effective since it was designed for no post-secondary poisoning and we expected to have to buy more to deal with the freeway of rats that come out after sunset..

We applied it according to the directions, and by the end of a week we saw NO rat activity. Occasionally one of our dogs would bring a dead rat to us, but they (the dogs not the rats) suffered no ill effects. It's been over 3 months, no rats, and we still have a half full bucket of Fastrac. It surpassed my expectations!

100% Satisfaction
Previously submitted a review but failed to mention one thing. I read that rats are attracted to bacon and sausage so I fried some up and drizzled the fat over the Fastrac, allowing it to absorb into the cube. For the cubes which were visible (in a locked room)...well, they DISAPPEARED within an hour!!! Don't know whether it was this that furthered the cause or whether Fastrac itself alone attracts those nasty rodents. But just thought I would mention it....

100% Satisfaction
When I say the rats in the walls (YUK!) were driving me nuts, it is no slight exaggeration! ONE single treatment in all the rooms (and down electrical socket outlets) did the trick. I was utterly amazed and would recommend this product to anyone dealing with a sudden or recurring infestation. Make sure to read all safety precautions prior to use. Other than that, I would say this product has my 100% endorsement (AND gratitude!!!)

Had to use cat food for the rats to take it
Hard to believe my rats would not eat it unless it was dipped in cat food.

Norway rats
I had used Contrac Blox before and it worked better, but due to CA regulations I couldn't get that type of bait. We have Norway Rats. It didn't work at first, I had to take some blocks out of the bucket and mix it with canned tuna fish....that did the trick...got rid of several rats. I will use Fastrac again, fast shipping (got it in 2 days with your standard free shipping )and good prices..

Rats love the stuff...and keep eating
We have Roof Rats in Florida and are now on our second pail. Recently, the rats have begun to devour the bait, eating one-half the bait box contents every night. I tried an anticoagulant sold by this comppany, but the rats will not eat the new bait. So I am back to refilling the bait boxes everyday with Fastrac. We must have a huge colony or they are not killed by this product. It did work well for about a year before this latest change in habit.

All good stuff - love the color
The DIY Pest Control rep advised me to buy a bucket of these for my Eaton top loader mouse bait dispenser. They fit right in there - five of them at a time. I checked the dispenser after one week of its placement, and the critters have indeed been gnawing on the bottom most block.

Success!

No more mice
I had a moderate infestation. I placed the bait stations around my house 18 months ago-I have refilled the stations 3-4 times. I noticed a big drop off the first winter-this is the second winter and I have seen nothing, no droppings no dead mice. I will continue to refill the bait stations because they are safe and I do not want any mice back. But I also believe that sealing all around the house ANY opening i could find I sealed with steel wool.

Fastrac Blox and HUGE Rats
I care for a feral cat colony using Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). We also feed the cats we have returned to the colony. Last year was the first time we had problems with HUGE rats invading the colony and eating the cat food. They drove the cats out of the feeding area! We set up the Fastrac in a controlled setting so the rats would eat it instead of the cat food and within 24 hours, 98% of the rats were gone! We had one or two who managed to slip through but a second night of "feeding" eliminated them also. The cats were able to return to their feeding area and resume normal life. This year, there are a few new rats who have taken up residence once again. A new order of Fastrac and we will be rid of them, also.

Fastrac Blox and Chipmunks
We had over a dozen chipmonks running around our yard and deck. They often ran under our chairs while we sat and watched. They destroyed my vegetable garden and burrowed under our shed. One pail of Fastrac and only a few are left. It worked quickly and efficiently.

Fastrac Blox and Rodent Cafes
I got 24 rodent cafes and fastrac bloxes to fill them(2 pails).
You saved us about $3700! Yes $3700! We had a local pest control company provide an estimate to do this and they wanted $4000 to do the same thing.
