Lady Bug Kit - Large Contains

  1. D-Fense SC (pt)- Makes up to 22 gallons and is a broad spectrum liquid insecticide - may be used against many insects. D-Fense SC has a 3 month residual.
  2. D-Fense Dust (1 lb)- With Deltamethrin is water resistant and is a broad spectrum dust insecticide, proving a long residual.
  3. CB 80 Aerosol (17 oz)- CB 80 with pyrethrin that is also very useful against flying insects
  4. Bellow Duster by JT Eaton - This bellow duster has a spring that is compressed in order to release the dust. This duster will hold between 4 oz to 8 oz of dry dust, depending on the weight and particle size of the dust.
  • D-Fense SC - Spray D-Fense SC around eaves, attic vents, windows, doors, under-fascia lips, soffits, siding(including under lips) and any other possible points of entry, concentrating on the south and the southwest sides .
Spray with fan pattern from a garden pump sprayer such as B&G Dura Sprayer. Spray the southern and western walls is helpful when lady bug populations are high. Remember that heavy duty infestations require heavy duty treatments.
  • In addition to the residual insecticide D-Fense SC , you may want to use dusts and aerosols, if they have invaded the home. D-Fense Dust and CB 80 Aerosols are our top recommendations.

Dust can be used to treat wall voids if there is no insulation to impede the spreading of the dust. It can also be placed around switch plate covers and electrical outlets as well as plumbing openings. CB 80 has a crack and crevice applicator which allows you to treat around windows, molding and light fixtures. CB 80 with pyrethrin, provides a contact kill and may be used against flying insects, as well. The dust and aerosols should be applied to indoor cracks, crevices, wall voids, hiding places and entry points. The CB 80, as a contact killer, is useful to spray the ladybugs directly on contact to get a quick knockdown.

Shady areas are less likely to attract lady bugs.

Ladybug Control

Once ladybugs have become established in the home, there are not a lot of treatment options, with limited chemical options at this point. The easiest way to remove ladybugs, once they are indoors, is with a vacuum cleaner.

However, prevention, is the best of all choices. This is done during the Fall time. To help prevent Asian lady beetles, cluster flies, box elder bugs and similar pests that enter structures during the fall months and "overwinter" in your home, use high quailty residual sprays such as D-Fense SC.

Mechanical means of ladybug exclusion

Sealing ladybugs out by caulking cracks and around utility service openings, fixing broken window screens and door jams, plugging cracks in the foundation or roof as well as similar exclusion-type activities will help prevent the asian beetles from entering in the first place.

Excellent product!
I purchased this product in the summer of 2015 after my house was invaded by the Asian Beetles that look very similar to Lady Bugs. My house is surrounded by farm fields where soybeans are grown and this apparently attracts these bugs. During the winter of 2014/2015, I had to vacuum them several times a day out of my windows, off my ceiling and out of my light fixtures daily--lots of them! They also appeared inside enclosed light fixtures that were mounted on the ceiling in the second floor. They just about drove me crazy--they were everywhere and seemed endless.

When the weather started to cool off in the fall, I sprayed the entire outside of the house, except for the tin roof, paying particular attention to all around the windows, doors and eaves. Once the outside was sprayed, there were hundreds, if not thousands, of the bugs dead on my wrap-around porch and every window sill. The weather warmed up and cooled down about 3 times before the cold weather set in for good. Each time, there were many dead bugs on the porch, window screens and window sills. The leaf blower did a great job on cleaning those up. I found maybe half a dozen in the house over the whole winter, but they were dead as well and could have been missed from the previous winter.

This is a miracle product! It does what it says it will do. I didn't even use the dust. I would highly recommend this product!

Excellent
We have a hunting cabin and had a serious lady bug infestation and couldn't find anything to help remedy our situation other than spraying flying insect spray which smells horrible and only kills if you have direct contact and then I found this product!!!! I love the fact that the D-FENSE SC is odorless. The lady bugs were overwhelming, you couldn't even sleep at night for the fact that the lady bugs would fly around and crawl on you. I sprayed the entire cabin with the D-FENSE SC and the next night only had a few left and the night after that maybe a couple then none! I will continue to use this product and I am sure next spring we will be bug free just as we were after the first use this year! Very Very Impressed with your product and Highly recommend it to anyone!
